It could have went either way, Ruddock with a billion uppercuts and tyson appearing to rock ruddock a couple of times, Ruddock definately got mikes attention with the UC.

Not to overshadow your analysis but this would be a more worthwhile discussion had the round in question taken place during the second fight seeing as that the first fight didn't require the use of the scorecards.

I think Rudduck edges it. Good fight btw. and yes - best watched wit hthe sound off - as the commentators are very biased.

Doesn't matter, mike lost many of first rounds to lesser opponents.

Ruddock was landing a lot of hard shots during the first 3 rounds - but he couldn't keep it up and was taken further of the fight as the rounds progressed, while Tyson kept becoming stronger and stronger. Ruddock had his moments during some of the late rounds for sure, but it wasn't enough. The stoppage was premature, but it didn't look like he was going to get back in the fight. On the other hand, a big hitter like him can change the bout at any moment..

I'll never forget that missed uppercut Razor threw very early in the round...Can you imagine if that thing landed clean? If I'm not mistaken, Mike threw a big uppercut and missed as well....Anyway, GREAT round and I think I'd call it pretty even.

I don't think i was ever so psyched for a fight as I was for this one and that first round did not let me down.

I remember i quite fancied Ruddock to be the man to finally burst Tysons bubble, after the first round i thought i had guessed correctly.I think Ruddock won the first round, and also that the stoppage was premature, quite a few refs seemed ready to stop fights as soon as Tyson's first attack happened.Maybe his reputation was influencing how they officiated ?

    Good win for Ruddock.

Tyson always lost to people who could fight back.
