Im just not seeing the logic for him fighting bums. Even though a lot of people say its for money like it really is theres no logic. Sure he is safe of another loss and his record will improve. But if he takes the big fights and beats Kessler or Calzaghe, his fighting purse would be that much more he would be making double if not a lot more than what he is making for every fight now. So it goes like this vs taxi driver = 500 000 but with a win against kessler even fighting the cab driver could get him in a lot more than that. Theres just no logic to team mundines thinking. Sure hes fighting for safety with his record, and sure another loss would bring his ppv buying and profit down. But such a win over kessler would make him go big in the money terms. He should be taking a leaf out of oscars book. But to me team mundine is financially dumb, anyone agree? And in the process of short changing themselves financially, they are not making the boxing public happy, as they are not seeing the fights they want to see. So its a negative double whammy.
I think its really the opposite. He has it in the back of his mind that he probably cant beat the top tier at 168, so he can maximise his earnings by fighting guys below that. Nievas is obviously just a keep busy type affair, but even after that hes not going to be looking at a Calzaghe/Kessler or probably even Bute/Froch/Inkin. He's in the game to make cash, and I think thats what hes going to do.
No.. there is logic Most of the people who watch Mundine have no idea about boxing or how to gauge the calibre of his opposition. So why fight a semi-dangerous opponant that no one knows when you can fight a can and the same amount of people will watch. Mundine has no respect for his fans, he wants to fight the best because he is actually pretty rich now and he wants to try and beat the best so as he can say "I told you so" to everyone. But he is neither good enough or in a position to demand those fights, so instead of finding some middle ground, he will go on fighting bums for good coin, instead of fighting good fighter for the same. I have said in another thread, the last time he fought a half decent contender (Siaca), he lost. Nasser and Choc aint risking his career like that again.
Yep I thnik you are right....mundine will fight guys around top 15 or Joe or Kess...he wont risk fighting guys rated 4 to 14. It sux for fight fans but he keeps him rich.
yeah in reality the REAL boxing fans like us get left in the cold to hope whilst the average joe pours millions in his pocket just because they have no idea who these bus drivers he fighs really are
You guys sound like dimwits. Every boxer does what Mundine is doing. Also, this Neivas guy is being under rated. He is huge, and he knocks his opponents out. Mundine doesnt like these guys generally. He is probably as worthy of a title shot as Bika was a year ago or Green was before he fought Beyer. The only guy we know about that he has fought is the guy Mundine finished last year. He wasnt to bad as an opponent and this guy draw with him. He has KO'd just about everyone else. Its going to be interesting to see how Mundine copes with the size.
Yes, I think that is the reason. Adn no he may not beat Calzaghe/Kessler, but he can imo. beat most of the rest - so why not take them on and make a carreer, money etc? Instead of going from Kessler to crap and back. He should fight some good top 25-30 fighters for in between fights.
I think they are smart actually in their way of milking the gullible fans of money by fighting nobodies. As you mentioned another loss would mean less money, and perhaps Mundine doesn't really believe that he can hang with Calzaghe and Kessler no matter what he tells his fans. Have you ever thought about that?
I agree.......But Mundine is certainly good enough to beat most of the S/Middleweights going around.........and is still not prepared to take the risk.
he fought like **** against siaca and is 3 times the fighter he was then , yeh he must be the only guy fighting semi dangerous opponents... how many semi dangerous opponents and reality tv stars has calzaghe slapped, he has fought so many safe fights throughout his career and that is why many do not regard him as one of the best of all time and with his record he should be regarded as one of the best of all time, but he has fought so many donkeys people are still waiting for him to pull off a few more big fights like the lacy one before he gets his full recognition, Mundine has his big fights to come, and you are kidding when u say he is not good enough after kessler and calzaghe he is the next SMW in line and your prob right he is not in a position to get them running to him but he is without a doubt good enough
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl You best check your fingers again........ You keep pulling **** out of your arse.
