He is facing Josenilson Dos Santos next, 12-0-8KO, a Brazilian boxer who fights like Joan Guzman. They are fighting for Soto's WBC Super Featherweight belt. Expect a damn good fight, and do not be surprised if Soto loses against him.

    Soto is 48(31)- 7 -2; Santos is 12 - 0 :-( . . . I just don't see the guy as a real threat.

I caught him on youtube. Seems to be a pretty skilled fighter. Can't wait to see it.

I haven't seen or read any rumors about this. In addition, Linares is a Golden Boy fighter, and Soto is with Top Rank. This would be one hell of a unification fight and clean up the mess in 130. Where'd you hear about this?

    Also:
Guerrero's fighting Klassen for the IBF in 2 weeks.
Martinez has a WBO defense in PR next month.
Those two should unify. Then you could have the winners of the "semifinals" fight for all the belts.

Too bad the chances of that happening are slim to none.

    Quotes from both fighters.

Doubt the other unification will happen as Linares resiedes in Japan and they dont care for belts other than the WBA and WBc. Linares will beat Soto.

What the hell is Soto doing fighting this guy?

I will be pissed if some mando gets in the way of a Linares fight.

Why's that? He'll have time to squeeze in another gimme/bounceback fight in the winter (so as to not be challenging directly off a loss). It'll still be a fight the boxing public will be interested in. It isn't as though Soto has anything close to a "zero" to protect. Or is it that he'll lose mandatory positioning? If he's a voluntary defense for Linares I don't see that a loss should affect the fight unless he gets obliterated.

I dont see Linares fighting him without a belt. Linares is more interested in unifying then just fighting a name.

I'd rather trust quotes directly from Linares than what you think.
