I have to say although I'm delighted that Women's boxing is no in the Olympics I'm disappointed it has had to come at the cost of losing some of the men's competition.

I think with that in mind if Paddy were to medal in Milan in might be the right time to turn pro.

There's roughly 5 1/2 lbs or 3 kilos between Light-Flyweight and Flyweight and with the type of fighter Paddy is I don't think fighting bigger men will suit him that well(in the ams anyway).

With the way the British/Commonwealth/European Flyweight scene is at the moment, there's a real opportunity there for someone to make a big impact. There's not too much to contend with and a good quality fighter could rise through the ranks in a very quick time.

Even if he doesn't manage to do so well in Milan, it's something he should definitely consider because Flyweight in the amateurs is going to become one awfully tough division to do well in.

Just read all the comments from the peters / Galaxy article whats with all the hate mail no one has any facts yet on the situation ,I doubt peters is breaking any rules within the wba he seems like a clever guy I dont know if he,s a nice guy or not I have never met him, it seems like the thai camp have a taste of sour grapes in the loud mouths ,If dunne had to fight there he would be robbed nothing surer ,they know there,s a big chance their guy could loose out of his homeland and are already coming up with reasons.
thats my opinion I could be wrong and if I am who cares Dunne is gonna win .

Yeah it does look like Team Galaxy are raging with the purse bid situation but like someone pointed out before, that's down to bad management on Galaxy Promotion's part not Brian Peters. The comment on how Poonsawat will now "persue the title with more viguor" is a bit stupid, it's like saying he wasn't that motivated to win before all this sabotage talk. It does sound like they are making this stuff up, if WBA rules state that Poonsawat can arrive in Ireland 7 days before the fight then Team Galaxy could just tell Peters where to go if he was demanding they arrive 4 days before, instead of running to the press like a bunch of whiney bitches. I reckon they are taking there anger over the purse bids out on Peters.
Oh and yeah I agree, Dunne will win and he won't need Poonsawat to be weight drained or jet-lagged to do so :D:bbb

It is a shame that Barnes weight class at the Olympics is going as he would have been a top contender in London. I hope he moves up to the next weight class as he could still do well and try and go to London and fight. He shouldn't rush at turning pro but if he does I hope he gets in a decent team. I wouldn't mind seeing him with the Breen team or even a move to the US or UK if he does go pro.
