Roy Jones VS Manny Paquiao

And the RJJ vs Ruiz fight was not in any catch weight. :deal

 

I had no idea RJ was a 2/1 favorite. Can anyone substantiate this?

But anyways, most people who picked DLH to win expected him to have about a 10 lb weight advantage come fight night. But the fact that he came in lighter than Pacman sort of dimishes the win. It was a GREAT win for Pacman and he made DLH look that slow but everyone has to admit that DLH's weight situation was strange. First, he weighs in at 145 and rehydrates only 2 lbs to 147. That is just not normal. And even in the ring, he was chewing on something. Who knows what it was but i've never seen a boxer chew on something that didn't look like gum but something bigger.

Both great wins but i give the nod to RJ.

 

I think this is what it is. Boxers who move up in weight classes with success are those who have certain body types- tall, long limbed, wide shouldered, skinny torso, that can add muscle as they mature. Examples: De La hoya, Roy Jones, Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Paul Williams, Floyd Mayweather Jr. In their younger careers, those guys always had the height and reach advantage, and youth speed. As they got heavier, they kept most of the speed and some power, but still overall not as much as lighter weights.

Pacquiao is built like a MIDGET (sorry Manny). He looks way smaller than his 5'6 height, big ass head, short arms , short legs. While he moved up weight, he looked even faster and stronger! That's why people talk about him the way they do. The guy's a FREAK OF NATURE! Like what boxing commentators have said, Pac has defied boxing logic. That frame of his wasn't supposed to do what he has done. Most good boxers can't even move up 1 weight division without getting humiliated.

 

Roy used steroids, so pacman all the way, **** the cheaters.

I never saw Pacquiao as freak of nature because how he looks, he was always a normal person to my eyes, I admire him because he is in the way to become a legend so shut the **** up caneman.

 

Whoever pick Pacquiao beating a shot weight drain De la hoya is better then Jones beating Ruiz should never watch another boxing fights again.


I said this many freaking times the reason mostly everyone pick De la hoya to beat Pacquiao cause they all focused more on size alone in which no one even think of what could the weight effect Oscar in which Oscar hasn't fought at ww before facing Pac in 8 freaking years.


Roy Jones unlike Manny didn't ask Ruiz to fight Jones at 180 pounds in a catchweight, instead Roy Jones move up 2 weight class in which Roy weigh 193 pounds while Ruiz weigh 226 pounds. That means Ruiz outweigh Jones by 33 pounds while on fight night Pacquiao outweight De la hoya by a pound in which Oscar weigh in at 147 POUNDS!!!! And damn it people freddy freaking Roach even said on 24/7 of the Pacquiao vs Hatton that he told Manny to attack Oscar right away cause he notice Oscar is dehydrafted very weak of moving down in weight.

I called him MIDGET as a comparitive term (compared to body types of De La Hoya and others) to counter a post and accentuauate the point I was making about how incredible his feats are despite his physique, which isn't suppossed to be successful as he moved up the weight divisions!
