Oscar De La Hoya a Bad Mo-Fo

Since no one answered the question I will tell you why Pac is not fighting Mosley. Speed and a very very hard right hand coupled with the ability to finish a hurt fighter. This is why you won't see this fight. :deal

 

If that's the case, then PAC should be considered above him since he beat him more than convincingly!

 

I don't know how good he's been but I can tell you he became a follower instead of a leader after Trinidad's loss. Tito fought Campas, Oscar went after leftovers. Tito fought Vargas, there went Oscar. Tito fought Mayorga,there went Oscar , AND last but not least, Tito fought BERNARD, and yes, there went Oscar. Not only that, but his wins were less impressive than Tito's IMO, & his loss to BERNARD came earlier & with a little bit of a "canvas drama/tantrum show kind-of-thing."

I aint a big fan of either man but anyone having Oscar over Pacquiao should be made to bungee jump cordless.

 

Id back Chavez despite the size difference, I think he could take whatever Oscar connected cleanly with, I think his underrated defence, specifically his slipping of punches would make Oscar miss a LOT & I think his pressure & ability to get stronger as the fight goes on would turn an even fight for the first 9 rds into a late rds domination for Chavez, his stamina & will were on a higher plain than Oscar`s IMO, particularly his stamina.

I don't consider Oscar a great win for Manny, like I don't consider Chavez a great win for Hoya. I have no bias here. Jesus, this was the first time I've ever been accused of being a Manny fan.

It's hilarious when people discuss Oscar's resume at times. They mention Hopkins, Mosley, Mayweather, and Trinidad. He lost to all of them. When I'm comparing Manny's resume to Oscar's, we're talking victories. It's clear to me when keeping victories in mind that Manny has the superior resume, and we're not even talking about weight drained Oscar or shot to pieces Chavez, they both got a lot of work done throughout their careers. Manny isn't even finished.

Manny Pacquiao: Barrera (126), Morales (130), Marquez (130), Hatton (140)

Oscar De La Hoya: Whitaker (147), Quartey (147), Vargas (154) Mayorga (154)

Going on actual wins, I don't see how anyone can make a case for Oscar. If you're one of the people who felt he beat Trinidad and Mosley second time around, I guess I can almost see where you're coming from. Even then, Manny has a hell of a list of fighters in his win column.

It wouldve gave him some time to recover after being put on his ass. I guess Vargas deserved it after being roided up in the fight.

 

Oscar would probably have dominated him like Tito but he always faded over the second half of a fight which makes me feel that Chavez would brutalise him late on

Funny that some of you Floyd fans that list Hernandez and Gatti as great wins for floyd don't aknowledge the fact that Hoya beat an undefeated Hernandez and a younger and fresher Gatti. But yeah, Hoya lost them all, right?

ODLA is open to criticism obviously but any real fight fan who has seen more than a couple of his fights and with that, is aware of his career, can't deny his greatness. ATG? Probably not but definitely in the honorable mentions list...
