Rubio would be a pretty good step up over many of Arthur's title defenses.

A step up is the upcoming SMW tournament, not a former ww or jmw:lol:

If Williams knew how to properly use his height and reach, I'd say he beats Arthur Abraham, but that's not the case. He bends down, likes to brawl on the inside, and although he moves his head, he keeps his hands low.

That's why he was getting caught with right hands even by 5'7" Verno Phillips. Paul williams gives too many openings to AA and his big, thin body would also get punished by Abraham. I think AA would catch up with him in the mid-late rounds of the fight.

Rubio would get stopped real quick by AA.

That's not the point. The point is Rubio would beat the ever loving **** out of 85-90% of Arthur's title defense opponents.

you telling me Williams ain't as durable as gevor and simon?

don't forget this would at 160 where abraham as just as many problems/unanswered questions as williams, he would be drained and he's already naturally lethargic. Williams makes it rain on that guard and walks away with a decision and on his chin remember he took those plasters from a guy margarito who has more punch variaty then AA and looked how he came out in that 12th and completely outboxed him so i think this chin talk is over egging it.

Funnily enough, noob, Pavlik told Bob Arum to go **** himself with a Mora fight, and ASKED for Williams. When Goosen started making silly and inflexible demands, his managers rang him up and asked him what he wanted to do. Pavlik told them to MAKE THE FIGHT, even if it required financial sacrifice. I wouldn't call that the action of a coward.

I don't wonna speak for him and i woudn't have put it in those words

However for me AA's style seems to be great if he's able to go the traditional route and that's get a title, fight some cans/legit contenders and pickoff a number one when that number one showed signs of vulnerability. Per example would've been Pavlik at 160 right now.

as for the tournement, to put him in a 168 pound sprint where he's gonna get peppered with different styles and two men (Froch and Kessler) that have been eating 168, are bigger and super strong, I'm not so sure a 100m dash is a good look for AA.

can't believe these people that think williams is so much less durable then guys like simon

Problem with that viewpoint is Paul williams still has more defense and footwork and can box backwards than the more one dimensional Abraham. True AA has more power but The Punisher has more speed. AA has stamina and workrate? Since when.....one guy never gets tired and throws a 1000+ punches per round and one looked like a stand in for Jason Vorhees at the end of the Gevor fight..

How much did Sauerland offer Pavlik to fight in Germany?
How much did Sauerland ask for to fight in Atalantic City?
How much did HBO, or any other network, offer for the fight?
What was the proposed purse split?
You can't answer those questions because Sauerland NEVER negotiated seriously, or in good faith.

Arthur is not fighting Kessler. He is fighting two time Pavlik victim Jermain Taylor, a man who found a way to lose to Carl The Clumsy.

No one cares about Pavlik's fights? He stands to make as much money in his next fight as the 168 tournament winner will make in the final. Someone must care.

It's truly amazing that a fan of Arthur Abraham would call Pavlik a coward. Arthur had a choice of opponents, and CHOSE #43 ranked LuJaun Simon. Pavlik had a choice of opponents and CHOSE Bernard Hopkins. I see a bit of difference there, and it does not fall your boys direction.

Arthur Abraham is not a world class fighter. He has never even been in the ring with a world champion. The man's resume is utter ****, and his title reign was a joke littered with winos and bag ladies. The entire abra-monster myth is based on knocking out a badly damaged Edison Miranda, and talking smack about Pavlik while avoiding real negotiations.

I've got Paul Williams winning a sizable decision and NOT getting Rocked. When Williams doesn't throw caution to the wind and respects his opponents power....he stays outta trouble. I see him doing that in this fight. Also Abraham is so slower unless the kid has DEVOLVED I dont see it. Plus I dont care how you guys wanna spin it; AA DOES NOT CUT OFF THE RING VERY WELL.
