Moorer and Bowe? I hope not. They were lacking in my mind. Moorer career was not that great, it is good but not HOF. My favorite fighter Hearns beat Cueves,Benitez,Duran and Hill. and fought Leonard and Hagler also. So he fought 6 HOF. Leonard beat probably the 4 top guys he could and most guys ever did in Benitez,Hearns,Duran and Hagler. Ironically, Duran beat Ray because Ray fought on the inside and then Duran lost to Leonard,Hearns,Benitez and Hagler. Yet he is seen as one of the greatest ever. The record does not show this. Doesn't matter what anyone thinks of his lightweight reign, it was not good enough for him to be top 5 p4p ever.
yeah but they were probably more likable. It is almost like a personality contest. Mancini probably would get in easier than most guys because people tended to like him. But Moorer will not get in. His career is not HOF. What did he do? On that one I am not sure it would happen. Bowe maybe. Bowe we had more expectations for and he was more dominant.
Here is the Hall of famers Mclarnin has faced. He fought some of them on a number of occasions e.g canzoneri x2, Ross x 3, and lost against them aswell as beat them. But the fighters he did lose to he also had a win over except for Brouillard whom he fought only once losing the bout. Basically he has fought 13 fellow hall of famers that I can recount and has beaten every one of them barring Brouillard. Lou Ambers Tony Canzoneri Young Corbett Barney Ross Benny Leonard Lou Brouillard (L) Billy Petrolle Sammy Mandell Bud Taylor Pancho Villa Fidel laBarba Jackie Fields Louis Kaplan
I am not so interrested about who is regarded/listed HOF and who's not but i'll guess warriors like : Sam Langford Evander Holyfield Rocky Marciano Expect also : Felix Trinidad Oscar Delahoya Roy Jones Julio Cesar Chavez Hector Camacho Manny Pacquiao Muhammad Ali (see the Joe louis explanation) Joe Louis (only because of the exaggerration of the all-time rating of the HWs in his time) SRR (see the Louis explanation just replace HW with WW,MW,LW) SRL Lewis (if you'll wait enough time) If the HOF meant something i'd believe it is more important to be there than to beat members of it because fighters like RJ , Calzaghe , Hopkins , Delahoya , and most of accomplished post-prospects today made a career out of beating faded/smaller/drained HOF members
