I was really shocked, I thought Roy would outbox him to a UD or something, but instead he made Lacy his girlfriend! All the **** about the gloves was weird, Roy was just like 'You can give me any kinda glove I don't care!'.
Jones next (and frankly LAST) opponent of his career should be against a man who grew up in the a very, very rough neighborhood, spent time in prison, lost his first professional fight, and through all the adversity, became undisputed middleweight champion of the world and was the first fighter to unify the four major belts, becoming a legitimate all-time great along the way. They fought before, 16 years ago. This man who Jones should fight is a master of slickness and lives, breathes, and eats up everything boxing. After Jones fights this man again, who just so happens to be Bernard Hopkins, he should hang up his gloves for good.
Its a common question with a simple answer. Its not about the money, although they want a good chuck of the pie. Some fighters simply love the attention of being in the lime light, and thats something money can't buy.
Exactly. It's really disconcerting to see a guy stand around and do nothing when his opponent is clearly hurt bad. I don't know what Jones was thinking. I guess he just can't pull the trigger anymore.
The problem is that Roy set the bar so high during his prime. Even though it was a good performance it was stilll no where near the Roy of old. Thats why people want him to retire, they dont want their memories tarnished.
