listen, bro, if you put b hop in the ring with an omar sheika or a jeff lacy he can also look like the second coming. its easy to look good against punching bags. but when you step up to the highest level u got to give up some of that flash and replace it with substance. jones has always been all flash b hop has always been all substance
I really hope the fight gets made...I dont do real money over the internet but I'll do a 3 month avatar bet with you.:good
roy has already said that he dosent want any thing to do with hopkins he just wants to fight guys he knows he could beat how dose that look like more of a fighter to you then a guy who is willing to fight guys half his age:-(
Honestly, I think he is just trying to get a rise out of everyone. Even in freddy's darkest moments as a poster he knows Jeff Lacy wouldnt win 30 secs of a fight vs Hopkins. I think he is just ****ing with you all.
It certainly would be a closer fight than B-Hop fans proclaim it... Hopkins just like Jones isn't a Spring chicken anymore and he is still surfing off his last outstanding performance of a year ago. With that said, it doesn't change the fact that at 44 years of age, anyone can look much older in a ring at any given time...That applies to both Jones and Hops. If anyone can confuse Hopkins in a ring right now...it's Jones because of his still unpredictable style and array of weapons...
My three favorite fighters ever are... Pernell Whitaker Bernard Hopkins Roy Jones Jr. So this is coming from a HUGE fan of both...and Im sorry, but it would be as bad and as one sided as the "Hopkins fans" are making it out to be.
All you have to do is look at this fight stylistically. Jones style presents a lot of problems for Bernard. He may not be as athletic as he once was, but neither is Hopkins. Jones could very well win a UD against him in a rather boring fight.
