Why are Pac fans so quick to forget about the Morales loss?

    Rooney,

DAMN if you DO DAMN if you don't
If Manny did not fight Morales the 2nd time. He would not avenged the loss.

Thus, the rematch was necessary. Morales was beaten badly on their rematch. The score is now EVEN. The third match is inevitable. PAC demolished Morales. END of STORY!

I think that too many people are quick to give credit to Pacquiao on the kos of Morales.. Morales in the 1st fight was coming off a CLEAR loss to Barrera (a man he had fought close twice) and was on the slide... He clearly gave his last great performance and defeated Pacquaio clearly. Gloves and cuts are not excuses for losses (Even though I think for as bad as Pacquaio was cut he showed MASSIVE heart) the 2nd fight Morales was coming off a loss to Zahir (who mastered Morales but hugged Freitas for 12 rounds and KO'd in 4 by Funeka) and was IMO clearly shot... He may have been ahead going into the 6th but he clearly was looking old in their. That said I think that while Pacquaio never beat Morales in his prime, he has shown he can hang with guys like JMM and Morales, and clearly Barerras master.. Just my opinion though

I've made 2 Pac threads, its hard to talk about anything else when 75% of all threads on ESB right now relate to Pac. :huh

I didn't say the rematch wasn't necessary, i was simply telling the whole story. Some of you like to read the children version.:rofl

The fact is Pac beat Morales in the 2nd fight. But Morales was coming off a loss to Raheem who also loss his next fight against Freitas.:think

So Pac didnt do anything special in that fight, not the way some of you story tellers would tell it.

Also the 3rd clearly puts pac in the lead but by that time Morales had no legs. Even Stevie Wonder could see this.

Morales was knocked down 5 times in their last two fights together... Pacquiao was never knocked down in their 3 encounters.

Morales: I can't feel my legs

cornermen: It must be those ring wars with Barrera and Raheem!!

Raheem ran from EM the whole time. Didn't do anything to Morales's body and his mind.

That's because PAC is a force to reckon in at least 2 divisions and almost always gave an exciting fight everytime...

When you talked about these boxers, for sure PAC will be mentioned:
    - PBF, JMM, Cotto, Hatton, DelaHoya, MAB, Morales, to name a few...

So Morales lost a "decision" to Raheem.

How did that make him shot going into his second fight with Pacquiao?

Its not a mystery that Morales can be beaten with superior boxing skills. Barrera made that theory fact in his last two fights with Morales. Their first fight was a slugfest and surprise surprise. That was the only fight Morales won.

Being outboxed doesn't make you shot. Being beaten within an edge of your life does. Don't believe me, than ask Ali how he was after "Thrilla in Manila".

Pac was headbutted? Get real anyone that sees the fight can clearly see that he was the one that butted. Morales was standing upright, pacman ducked down and came back up hard and bumped heads with Erik. i'm not saying it was intentional but it extremly clear that Pac was the one that butted. he just got the **** end of the deal by getting cut.

Morales was not big enough for lightweight. Had the superbantam or feather version of Morales fought a Raheem style fighter, he would have used his own weapons to counteract the style disadvantage. Up at lightweight, he didn't have the physical tools to bridge that gap. The Raheem defeat meant virtually nothing. It's just like when Pernell Whitaker looked bad against Julio Cesar Vasquez at 154lbs or when James Toney was twice beaten by Montell Griffin when he was on the way up in weight - all these guys (Pea, JT, Morales) were brilliant at their best weights and when they were fully motivated for big fights. But when they went up in weight, surrendered some of their physical attributes a little, and took fights which were not exactly superfights, they looked bad against determined, game opponents. It does not mean they were shot. Morales fought like a ****ing demon in the second Pac fight, he was just outgunned. A shot man could not have fought like Erik did that night. No chance.
