How would this end? A 1982 version of Hearns, fairly new at 154 and had just won the WBC-title from Benitez vs The Hearns who clearly beat Leonard in a Super Middleweight title-fight although he weighed closer to 160.
Easy..the 89 Hearns would beat 82 Hearns because the older hearns would know everything about the 82 hearns...but the 82 hearns would know nothing about the future 89 hearns. Next question..
As the '82 version was faster, sharper and less shopworn I'd pick that version to stop the '89 version early.
The 82 version of Hearns would stop the 89 version in 8 rounds. A much fresher version over a much worn version.
I have never seen this question asked. The 1982 Hearns was fast and was not hit as much as the 1989 Hearns. I think the 1982 Hearns wins in the 3rd or 4th round. I hate to say it.
The problem is Hearns fighting a Hearns kind of fighter, whoever lands first wins. I don't think Tommy could take his own right hand. Not many people could, but that is a big right.
same way I think the 1982 Hagler outboxes the 1987 Hagler. Even the 1985 Hagler would be too fast for the inactive 1987 Hagler.
