Come on guys! Foreman was without a doubt an animal. One of the hardest punchers ever. But it is time to leave grandpa alone. Let him enjoy his life. God bless you George, wherever you are!

I think he very well could be a champion, and possibly THE champion in today's paltry heavyweight climate.
Look at the list of old fat losers we have masquerading as top contenders. A 40ish year old George Foreman would be an old fat winner! If 40-year-olds (and other misc has-beens) who were never great can be winning and competing for titles (Maskaev, Holyfield, McCall, Toney, Briggs, Rahman) Why can't a a 40 year old who was great and had all time power do it?

40 year old Foreman would be a beltholder, but he would not be able to beat the Klitschkos and some other contenders.

He would be the best besides of the Klitschkos, who are 2 classes above the other "overweights"

Well he became the lineal champ in a much stronger division than the current one, He'd have a pretty easy run to a title shot. Vitali I think would beat him on points, Wlad would have to be in ultra-cautious mode and fight defensively for 12 rounds to win, Foreman had the power to knock him out if he made any errors or actually tried to fight him (which he wouldn't). He'd beat Valuev. He'd be the third best guy out there at the least.

    Agreed.

I think a Foreman-Valuev fight would've been exciting/hilarious as hell to see. I think I'd even watch that fight if it happened today.:thumbsup

He'd probably be in about the same position. Big George had a pretty easy road to his titles. Sure, Moorer was a good win, but he was also a small heavyweight. If Foreman's comeback had been, say, three years ago, he'd be a top guy (and maybe he'd still be a top guy), but he'd be hard pressed to beat a Klitschko and his style doesn't match up so great against Valuev either.

(this is assuming we're talking about 40 y/o George, not the current 55 year old George.)

A Wladimir-90s Foreman fight would be dynomite. Both guys preferred to stay stationary and have their opponent right in front of them. Both have the power to devastate the other. Foreman took the better punch, but Wladimir would be better at avoiding the bomb. It would be intense while it lasted.

The people nuthugging Foreman are being ****ing ridiculous! He'd get demolished. Plain and simple. First off, he's way older now than when he beat Michael Moorer. Two, you are all forgetting Michael Moorer was easily beating him until he got caught and was a blown up light heavyweight with a glass chin.

Any top 10 fighter right now would beat him to a pulp. If you think otherwise you are either blinded by nuthuggerism or you hate the state of HW boxing right now so much that you're willing to delude yourself and indulge in ridiculous hyperbole thinking today's Foreman would stand a chance against anyone in the top 10. This isn't the 90's.

Most posters are referring to how the Foreman who made his comeback in the late 80s/early 90s would have fared if the current crop was his opposition, not how 60-year-old Foreman would do right now.

He would be champ right now. Not a title-holder, but undisputed champion.

I'd say he'd do better in today's division except for against the Klits. He'd have a very tough time against them cause they're so ****in big. You have to get inside on them and he wasnt the most mobile when he came back.
