Easy to see why the UFC split Carwin/Velasquez up and gave Carwin the title shot and Velasquez a fight with Rothwell.

They want Brock back in action to satisfy the fans that have been buying the PPVs in droves since he appeared on the scene, so the UFC scraps the No.1 contendership fight and allows Brock to defend the belt before 2010, by which time Velasquez has hopefully beaten Rothwell and emerged as a contender to the title.

There was little sense in using up an unbeaten prospect at this stage.

Given that you clearly think Carwin is ****, how does beating him elevate Brock at all?

I think you are right. From a business angle it makes sense but from a fighting perspective Carwin and Cain needed to fight to eliminate the other.

I cant say im exicted for this card at all. The 2 main events are on paper incredibly one sided. Now I know fights arent fought on paper but Ortiz vs Coleman and Lesnar vs Carwin sounds dreadful.

Yeah, the much hyped "competition" in UFC heavyweight division.

I don't think Carwin v Lesnar is one sided. Carwin is a huge, strong, powerful man. I'll enjoy seeing how Lesnar handles him. Carwin can punch. If he lands, will Brock take it? If they wrestle, is Lesnar better and stronger?

    It intrigues me.

Ortiz Coleman is so unimportant it begs belief. I do feel sorry for Mark though who is only doing this im sure just to make the ends meet. This fight will be alot like Shamrcok Vs Tito. Even shot to **** Tito should have enough to wipe the floor with whats left of him.

As for Lesnar Carwin its only interesting because of their sheer size. Carwin has the power to take Lesnar out. But other than that meh..
