The reason for this thread is that people are making it out like Diaz vs Malignaggi was the worst robbery since The Great Train Robbery of '63. It really wasn't. It was a competitive bout. It's just that a particular judge's scoring didn't reflect that. If the bout was scored 115-113 by all three judges in favor of Diaz there would be no uproar. It's not necesarily the outcome that's in question. It's the margin. Now don't get me wrong, it could have easily gon 115-113 Malignaggi but, hey, it is what it is.

So the goal here is to show that "robbery" in boxing is rather commonplace and the Malignaggi fight is no unusual occurrence. I'll start off by naming a few . . .

    Malignaggi vs Ndou II
    Malignaggi vs Ngoudjo
    Trinidad vs De La Hoya
    De La Hoya vs Sturm
    Briggs vs Foreman
    Kid Diamond vs Huerta
    Holyfield vs Valuev
    Schulz vs Foreman
    Whitaker vs Chavez
    Casamayor vs Santa Cruz
    Holyfield vs Lewis I
    Hatton vs Collazo
    Jones Jr. vs Tarver I
    Wright vs Vargas
    Quartey vs Forest (RIP)
    De La Hoya vs Whitaker
    Ayala vs Dianzo
    Augustus vs Burton
    Whitaker vs Ramirez
Mosley vs De La Hoya I or II
    Mayweather vs Castillo I
    Collazo vs Berto
    Ottke vs Reid
    Hopkins vs Forbes
    Hearns vs Leonard II

Now all the fights listed above either have a clear cut winner who was not awarded the bout or the bout could have gone either way yet the winner won by preposterous margins. There's probably a couple that are just real close. This is by no means a complete listing of all the "robberies" that have occurred in boxing. These are just some of the more memorable and recent ones. Please feel free to add your own "robberies" or state who you feel actually won the bouts that I've listed and which are the most egregious ones on my list.

Bute Andrade 1 - should have been Andrade KO12 Bute
Ibeabuchi Tua - should have been a draw , or maybe even tua
    Toney Tiberi
    Toney Johnson
    maybe also castro johnson 1,2
ottke is a serial benefitor of incorrect decisions.
all i know is erdei garay 1,2 were in germany and you know how it is with fights in germany as a rule of thumb.

Oh, and pretty much any loss that Glencoffe Johnson ever took.

Oh, and that Bute vs Andrade **** was ****in' disgraceful.

    Hometown stoppages feature:

    Chavez vs Taylor
    Cotto vs Corley
    Clazaghe vs Manfredo
Lewis vs Klitschko (not really a hometown stoppage but since he came to fight they shoulda allowed him to fight. Besides, that's the last exciting heavyweight fight I can recall witnessing.)

People who quit vs their opponent because they were losing but tried to use a cut as a cop out include:

    Camacho Jr vs Leija
    Guerrero vs Yordan
    Ortiz vs Maidana
    Judah vs Clottey
    Campbell vs Bradley

Cortez should have been suspended indefinitely for that one. It was the fistic equivalent of watching an older driver causing a ten car pileup.

Oh yeah, can't believe I forgot that one in terms of stoppages. That was one of the weirdest turn of events I've ever seen. Feel bad for Soto. He was whoopin' Lorenzo's ass.

I remember sitting there in shock with a whole bunch of "casual" fans who were asking why no one couldn't at least get Lorenzo a towel. Dude was sitting in a corner practically bleeding to death while Cortez was busy covering his ass talking to officials.

That entire scene still makes me sick.

    Toney-Peter 1.
    De La Hoya-Sturm.

Those are the only blatantly obvious ones I can think of. I've seen plenty of close ones go one way or the other, but in the fights above both of the "losing" fighters clearly dominated.
