I can't believe Vitali isn't on any P4P list.

Are you serious? knockout percentages don't qualify you to be on the list although its impressive. Who his Timo Hoffmann? Secondly, Wladimr is more worthy to be on that list IMO than Vitali. The one thing that you have right is that Arreola is going to be another Calivin Brock, hyped up and then his career put to sleep.

I don't think you understand the concept of pound for pound... An ant is stronger than an elephant p4p, but if they fight, the elephant squashes him.
Vitali is like an elephant. Yes, his style is suited to his body type, but his body type is large.

Are you good at math? If so, think of p4p as the ratio of skill to size. The greater the size (skill remaining constant) the smaller the p4p rating would be.

When you define p4p on the height and weight of their opponens, than a Heavyweigh like Lewis or Klitschko will never have a chance to be a p4p fighter.

But on my view p4p should be based on skill and I know nobody in boxing who is that good in fighting on the outisde like Vitali (look at Paul Williams or Kelly Pavlik).

You are underrating how difficult it is to fight from the outside. It makes no sense for a fighter like Vitali to show a 6 hook combo like Roy Jones.

Vitali is a beast. It's pure bias.

Fighting on the outside is actually easier than fighting on the inside.
It takes less energy to hang back and jab people away then it does to bob and weave in and unload combos. Of course, each fighter must work to thier strengths but...

...there is a reason that the size advantage is called just that...an advantage.

    That is correct!

A small guy has to learn totaly other things thant a taller man . It would be interesting too see Wlad or Vitali against Valuev, but I think they would also win the fight from the outside because they are almost perfect in it.

Aaaah, the 'gottem' thread, an all time classic :D

As for the subject being discussed, neither Klit deserves to be on a P4P list unless we're talking top 30 P4P list. Poor competition and both have bad losses on their records.

I would say most would have Wlad some where between 15-20, as far as Vitali he needs to stay active and get more fights under his belt.

Wladimir has been doing far more than Vitali and he's not on top 10 P4P lists either.

when I say size, I'm talking about weight. We're talking pound for pound here. You can be 215lbs at 5ft10 like Tyson or 122lbs at 5ft11 like Caballero. But noone is gonna argue that Caballero is bigger than Tyson right?

Vitali uses his height effectively, because that is his god-given ability. Some people are blessed with power, speed, strength, a good chin, height, etc. You can't discredit a fighter for being tall, thats like discrediting a fighter for being too powerful. An elite fighter by definition should be able to use the tools he has to their full potential

Vitali's average weight in his career is about 245. His opponents i would guess about 235-240. In the heavyweight division 5-10 lbs is not that big a factor.

Vitali's success is not reliant on his size. Its reliant on his ability.

Like i said we're talking pound for pound, not inch for inch

Neither should be in the top 10 P4P, Wlad's oppenents suck at heavyweight and Vitali had only 2 fights in the last 4 and half years. Wlad needs to keep winning for another year or two, and maybe he might just sneak into the top 10 if he's lucky.
