I do think Hopkins is unsure that he can beat Jones even at this stage...and because of that I don't think Hopkins' ego could handle losing a fight to a fighter called ''SHOT'' by most since 2004 !

Therefore, he won't really pursue Jones... On the other hand, if he loses to Adamek or Dawson, it takes nothing away from his attempt at enhancing his legacy. It wouldn't hurt him....

No one is scared..but Hopkins is insecure with the risk of a very possible loss to Jones !

Really ? Dawson ? do you have a reference to that ?
even if hopkins or someone in his team said something about dawson , when time has come , hopkins will chicken-out/price himself out/find some excuse to cancel this fight. dawson is a sure loss for hopkins now. hopkins himself said before pavlik that he won't fight young fighters anymore , he chose pavlik because pavlik is smaller than him , dawson is a different story altogether. however , i don't believe that hopkins fears jones , i do believe the opposite.

Hopkins is number 3 pound for pound so it is ridiculous for anyone to say that he is scared.

saying its about money...how is it about money when roy offered 60 winner 40 loser...which is equal to 60-40 that hopkins want anyway? If roy is shot and weak...how is it hopkins wont take that fight when he would walk away with the same 60 he wanted in the first place? Because he's scared he'd lose? Ofcourse..there is no explanation for that if you know you're better and you know roy is shot..etc etc...u cannot defend that with logic at all im sorry.

That's my take on it aswel. If he had no doubt whatsoever about defeating Jones, he'd take the 60% winner/40% loser deal.

Wouldn't it be some sh*t if after all the years of mindgames, we the fans got into Bernard's head by keeping on asking him why he won't take this fight?

I think Hopkins has things open to him now and is in a better position than Jones. He doesn't need Jones anymore, so why risk losing. He can pick who he wants to fight. He doesn't need Jones. Scared? Why would he be scared? He gave a better account of himself vs. Calzaghe than Jones did.

Honestly, both fighters were already able to moved on.
Fans should learn to accept this fact.

Hopkins is obviously and correctly "afraid" to put his legacy and career record on the line against a guy that is a specialist in stealing fights with unorthodox moves and winding up leading left hooks... And for small stinking doe! Bernard should risk it to make it a 50th pro win and a great farewell with a guy in his prime and prepared to go at it - most probably Chad Dawson!

i don't know. maybe hop is just returning the favor to jones. the "60-40 i kick yo ass" that jones pulled on hop when jones was still on top, i believe he's just returning the favor now that the roles are reversed.

and hop challenged jones when he was at middleweight and jones at lightheavy(or supermidlle, don't exactly know). I don't think he's scared now that they are both in the same division

Because it's a business. Hopkins has the leverage in this fight. He is simply trying to guarantee a 60% split instead of having the outcome of the fight determine whether he gets 60% or not. And i think he deserves at least that much.

This is the same situation as 2002/2003. When RJ was "the man" and he demanded 60/40. Now it's roll reversal. It's time for RJ to put up or shut up. He's looking up at Hopkins. 60/40 to the winner is insulting actually.
