    FOX SPORTS NET TO AIR MAYWEATHER vs MARQUEZ PREVIEW SHOW


    LOS ANGELES, California (August 25, 2009) - In anticipation of the upcoming showdown between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Juan Manual "Dinamita" Marquez on September 19 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas and live on HBO Pay-Per-View®, fans will have an unprecedented 'first look' opportunity to watch "Countdown to Mayweather vs. Marquez" a special behind the scenes 'making of' fight preview show that will begin airing nationally on Fox Sports Net (FSN) affiliates (check your local listings) starting Wednesday, August 26 and running through Friday, September 11.

    "The interest by FSN to distribute the preview show is another indication of the magnitude of this event marking the return of Floyd Mayweather," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "This fight will set a new record for interest by outside entities and corporate sponsors to help bring the event to the consumer through their committed resources and activation."

    I'm fairly sure it's the same countdown special that's been on Youtube for a couple of weeks. But man, Golden Boy is really going out of there way to promote this one.

    If this fight doesn't do well it could make Mayweather look really bad. They are selling this fight hard.

    Man, you would think as much exposure Floyd has gotten over the last few years it wouldn't be that difficult. Marquez doens't help though, he is a relative unknown. I think they should sell it on the disputed decisons against Pac, I think that may catch the casual fans attention.

    only problem, this is one of those fights where they promise the casuals/perverse bloodlusters all the blood and guts in the world.

    this is a great fight for us purists but i don't like the way the sport is being promoted now, its all violence and no sweet science

    On paper the fight seems to be for purists.. BUT, the whole card has tremendous potential and the main event could be quite surprising and brutal.

    They need to get a picture of JMM and Floyd next to each other with their shirts off to show the size difference is relatively small.

    Man this is such bull****, the outsiders/media go crazy over the wrong fights. First it was DLH-PBF which was a snoozefest and the media went crazy talking about it. Now we have outsiders going after PBF-Marquez which is going to be a blowout because JMM shouldn't be anywhere near this weight.
