The Nevada Athletic Commission, which oversees fights in Las Vegas, has approved the use of some replays. Referees will be able to review hits that end fights, including knockouts and low blows or head-butts if they cause the bout to end because of injury. Illegal hits can disqualify fighters if refs say they were delivered on purpose, but if ruled accidental a winner is determined by the judges' scorecards. Instant replay would be used at the sole discretion of referees to either confirm or overturn their initial calls. The new rule could be in effect within 30 days and used for the Floyd Mayweather v Juan Manuel Marquez fight on September 19. full article: This content is protected
