I couldn't agree with you more. The one thing I've learned about this forum is the sensitive nature of many fight fans here. Any criticism of Cotto for example will result in people resorting to personal attacks against you including accusations of racism. I don't agee with everything you've said, but I think you've made some well thought out and accurate assesments.

 

How ironic, this guy claims blacks are racist and then says slavery should be reinstituted

I have no gripe with Cotto. He's a good little fighter, and he has been involved in some good fights.

I think this is going to be a hell of a fight. From a tactical point of view, I favor Pacquiao. Pacquiao's biggest weakness is his defense to right hands. However, Cotto depends mostly on his left. He makes solid use of that right, but it's nowhere near on the level of a guy like Marquez. Cotto, on the other hand, seems to be vulnerable to straight shots down the middle and Pac has a dynamite straight left. On the flip side, Cotto is at his best when he's stalking his opponent and has a great left hook which is a very effective punch against lefties. Pac is the smaller man, so if Coto can cut off the ring effectively and employ a swarming style, it could be a long night for Pac.

In the end, I think Pac's speed and improved defense will win him the fight. He should be able to neutralize Cotto's left, and I believe he'll be able to land enough counter shots to keep Cotto from walking him down.

As far as my favorite current fighter; that goes to Hopkins. I've watched him since I was a kid. He's one of the most dedicated, disciplined, and technically sound fighters that I've seen. Mayweather is another one of my favorites. He shares a lot of the same characteristics as Hopkins. He always seems focused in the ring, he takes no one lightly, and comes to every fight mentally and physically prepared.

 

Nobody is saying that Cotto is perfect but what we are saying that you hate the **** out of him that is very clear and not up for discussion.

We defend him just like you and people like bigreg defend the african american fighters,and no mater how many times decide to post your bull****, that aint going to change.

I see it every day on here as numerous Cotto fans fight to see who can hang on his dick the longest. You're simply attacking us because we offer criticisim of Cotto. You said he wasn't perfect, so you should expect that he gets criticised.

 

I defend some fighters who happen to be Black, just like I do some fighters who happen to be White, Hispanic, and Asian. I've criticised fighters of all races as well. I don't sit here and defend fighters just because they're Black.

 

First of Be honest with yourself, there is nothing wrong with rooting for your own kind, as a matter of fact it is human nature.

Now lets look at the ones that I know you stay criticizing for a fact, like Juanma and Cotto ???

Why???? Because they are Puerto Rican?

Do you see me creating post that focus on any fighters negative attributes, nah man, I aint got the time nor the desire to hate that hard on anybody. But when I have to I call a spade a spade, I just dont harp on it.

I never said there was. At the same time I do not feel compelled to defend or root for someone based soley on their skin color.

I want you to find me one post where I criticise JuanMa. This is the kind of **** I'm talking about. I criticise Cotto and that somehow leads to me branded a hater of Puerto Ricans. Why the hell would I dislke a fighter just because he's Puerto Rican? That doesn't make sense.

People are critical all the time. They're critical of athletes, movies, politicians, it's a part of life. It's pretty silly that you feel no fighter should be criticized. I don't even know how you can come to this site if you truly feel that way.

So me posting quotes by Caballero where he says JuanMa overprotected is equivlant to me criticising JuanMa? I don't think so. And I responded to that thread you made. It was a great move by JuanMa. He knows a fight between he and Caballero is not going to happen in Janaury(his promoter already said he's lining up Gamboa for him). However, by saying what he did, he gets the fans off his back. I have no problem with it.
