I cant see how anyone can see otherwise. Rogers is clearly NOT a can. Fedor needs to take this to the ground and fast. If he stands with him i dont think it will be a Fujita moment.

  3. This sounds like a good fight... I couldnt say that with a straight face though.

Anyway, I think this is too much of a step up for Rogers. Fedor will have to put him under constant pressure and wont be letting him have the time to set his feet and punch imo, and he can punch hard himself.

In MMA EVERY heavyweight is a legitimate puncher.

I'm looking forward to this fight more than a fight with Werdum.

I've just never been a fan of Werdum.

Rogers is big, undefeated, hit's harder than Werdum and is hungry.

I can get a bit excited over this but I could never get excited over a fight with Werdum.

Werdum has no striking to trouble Fedor with and he's not going to do **** to Fedor on the ground either.

At least Rogers can bang and will come to fight Fedor with more confidence than Werdum would.

Is Rogers more dangerous on his feet than AA and Crocop? It's doubtful he has the same takedown defense as crocop, or the ground game of AA. It definitely makes tons of sense for Fedor to take him down asap but, at the same time, I'm not too worried for Fedor standing.

Still though, I think this is probably the best fight for Fedor to take at Strikeforce and it could definitely be a spectacular fight.

Carwin himself is massively overhyped. However, he simply has a much better background and skillset than Rogers who really isnt good at anything other than being a straight forward brawler with good power.

Carwin is not much of a striker but like Rogers can obviously crack a bit. BUT, the difference is Carwin has a legitimate wrestling background. Rogers as far as I know doesnt.

So in terms of accomplishment, they are both essentially equal, they havent accomplished anything. Both have 1 good win. But Carwin is simply the better fighter.

True. But Rogers is a bit diffrent. He's a MASSIVE puncher. Theres obviously significant diffrences in punching power and ability irrespective of weight.

The question is, Is Rogers another Houston alexander and once off his feet be totally useless? Rogers hasn't fought any ground experts yet. So once Fedor get's it to the ground it should be over shortly.

Very probable. But both Houston and Rogers are dangerous because their potent strikers. Still a good fight in my eyes. Who cares if he has no ground game. Mark Coleman has no submission game. He still had a sucessful career.

Considering the options I think Rogers is a bigger threat then Werdum, Werdum is a more skilled fighter but his standup or ground game doesn't threaten Fedor much. It seems the best chance at beating Fedor would be a flash ko which Rogers does have a chance of.
