Not even close. I think Julian Jackson and pavlik are very simular besides julian being faster but the styles are just about the same. So GMan would most likely crush pavlik in the same fashion. Nigel Benn said he hit harder than anyone he's faced and that was GMans only fight at SMW. I see it ending early with a DEVESTATING KO (weren't all his KOs).

You think when a guy winging from left field telegraphing each and every punch from C2 is in with a textbook boxer puncher with a very high volume and a giant step and punch reach, it's "all about power" ? That explains a lot.
If power is all that counts, can somebody explain to me why McClellan LOST 3 times ? Two times by decision against complete nobodies ?
He also won 30 odd times in case you didnt notice...sometimes against some pretty damn good fighters. Im not sure why people are putting so much into a couple of losses when Gerald wasnt even at his peak yet. Neither of which was against guys who fought anything like Kelly anyway. Let it be noted that G-Man is well overrated...I try to make sure I say that in every McClellan thread I post in..But he is a bad matchup for Kelly, who is pretty overrated himself.
Of course he is overrated, but Pavlik is _exactly_ not the type that would give McClellan the opportunities that one needs. He jumps back out of reach when swarmed, or clinches. He does not stay in range bobbing and weaving like Benn, giving away 20 odd punches to the back of his head. He has a very good timing moving back out of the arc of a hook, throwing his own hook over that connecting himself. He is basically the counter design to McClellan, not someone who would trade with him eating as many punches as he throws. Pavlik is also a tall, rangy fighter with long steps and a very long, good jab. Basically he OWNS Gerald jab-wise, I cannot understand why someone would mention that he had a good left jab. That was a joke what I saw him throwing against Jackson and Benn, a half hearted attempt of a jab, with no snap, no speed, just to follow it up with 20 consecutive haymakers in a row. Pavlik does not stand there on the ropes to give away such series, and he does not stand there punching with the other guy trying to outgun him. Pavlik has a very good textbook setup, and it would have needed a GREAT effort for McClellan to overcome this. I am definetly not part of the Pavlik nuthugging tagteam, but people are too dead set on making a monster out of the guy from the past who cannot fail and walks "easily" through everything the other guy does, and everyone from today, even if he us MUCH faster, and MUCH more versatile, suddenly gets a slow cumbersome victim. This is plain wrong. As simple as that. Of course, McClellan could have won, but not with something like a walk in the park. And not without a smart gameplan. Which doesn't appear given, seeing how Jackson connected on him, and Benn did.
