at Atlas on there. It's amazing what a few dramatic speeches (which the fighter basically ignores and sleepwalks some more once the bell rings) can do for your rep. Aaron "Put the Condom on the Eye" Snowell has a more proven track record than Atlas. Don't know about a top five, but Arcel, Steward, Beristain, Dundee, Futch, D'Amato, all deserve a mention. Blackburn of course did a notable job with Louis, but I'm not familiar with the rest of his training career.
1. Floyd Mayweather sr. 2. Roger Mayweather 3. Jeff mayweather . . . . . . . . . 276. freddy "the joke coach" roach
1. Nacho Beristain 2. Nazeem Richardson you would think more people would put him on their list. 3. Manny steward 4. Rudy Perez 5. Thomas Adameks trainer Dont know his name.
1. Cus D'Amato he is the father of Modern American boxing. 2. Angelo Dundee 3. Eddie Futch 4. Nacho Beristain he has made 16 world champions 4. Freddie Roach to be honest I know that its too soon to add Beristain and Roach but they are the two best trainers today. Steward was a bust I can think of a few fights in which his credibility went down. Teddy Atlas never was able to cement himself as a great trainer.
Billy "Tae Bo" Blanks? He sure helped SRL with Camacho. I know I seen Blanks in another boxers corner where the boxer lost also. I just remember the boxer at this moment. D' Amato, Futch, Dundee, Chaves, Sr's trainer, Steward.
In no particular order -Angelo Dundee -Floyd Sr. -Nazeem Richardson -Freddy Roach -Nacho Bernstien --------------------------- (honorable mentions) *Ronnie Shields *Dan Birmingham *Joe Goosen *Manny Steward
It's Andrzej Gmitruk, hasn't been mentioned more than once, cuz he's like anonymous. But indeed he's a great trainer. He was training few polish olympic medalists, for example Andrew Golota. Also has been training Adamek since the beginning, with small breaks.. (Dawson fight :roll my top5: 1. Freddie Roach 2. Manny Steward 3. Cus D'Amato 4. Angelo Dundee 5. Teddy Atlas
Jeez folks lighten up on my man Teddy Atlas. He may not deserve the mention he's getting here for all time trainers, but that's no reason to completely hate the guy. Can we at least give him some kind of mention for being one of the top commentators of all time (I like Larry Merchant myself). Somebody said Steward was a bust. I don't think they are fully aware of his body of work. Please! Are we talking about the same Emmanuel Steward? He and Jermain Taylor seemed to have a natural personality clash, it happens. He has made up for it with Klitschko (not that he needed to). And until Pacquiao loses, Freddie Roach appears to be the top trainer today (I'm not going to pretend to know anything about trainers that trained before I was born). I clearly remember how raw and unpolished Pacquiao was before hooking up with Freddie Roach. The improvement was abundantly obvious between the first and second Morales fights. Leaps and bounds. Now? He's a highly skilled fighter...pound for pound champ for the time being. It may sound ridiculous, but I almost think Roach is more responsible for how Manny fights than Manny is.
1. Angelo Dundee 2. Cus D'Amato 3. Enzo Calzaghe 4. Anyone else 5. Anyone else In my opinion, those three are head and shoulders above everyone else.
