you time yourself differently and often become too one paced when fighting 12 rounds, and then dropping to a six round fight you only have to drop the first couple of rounds due to inactivity and your on your way to a loss. he should be fighting 8 rounders i think if hes not fighting 10 or 12's has to keep active... and i think people underrate fitzgerald he might not be the fittest bloke in the division but one thing he does have is a great reach and pretty underrated power and a decent chin so it make for a tough night for anyone...
Interesting way to look at. Not too sure what you mean by dropping the two first rounds?..I would of thought experience from previous 6-8 round fights would give him the edge to adapt along with mental and pre-training preparedness. In regards to Brian, personally not a fan. Might have the reach, and chin, but I haven't seen much of his power to shock other heavyweights. Obviously he's not really committed to this game because he looks unfit and out of shape. Doesn't seem to really want to progress. Just my opinion...
What maco was saying. You learn to pace yourself for 12 rounders..which all good fighters aspire to be in because thats the championship distance. You jump back to 6 rounders and often you find a fighter being to patient giving away rounds early on. Sometimes they dont get up for these fights because they are against a lower calibre of opposition. Similiar thing happened to Jackson Asiku just recently, backs up his career defining win with a very average performance over the 6 against an inferior opponant. You see this happen to many fighters...sometimes they fight to the level of their opponant when you have seen them perform so much better.
Well said, you can get knocked out many of times, thats boxing, but its how you respond that makes you a great fighter... Haumono will be tested from his last knock down in 2weeks against J ustin Whithead in Melb...
The other guy was a stiff though. He looked like a pub brawler at best. He never had his hands up to protect himself...
congratulations to Leapai very quick follows through with body and head combinations good to see you duck and weave some think alot of heavies in this generation don't do, only mike tyson who comes to mine who was the MAN at that Leapai in my opinion should try to master that might prove very effective.congrats on the win
T-man sucks and is everybodies whipping boy. It would be good to see Alex against some better quality opponents. I would much rather see him on the Tua undercard against Meehan instead of Hoppa. Leave Te Rangi and Hoppa out in the carpark brawling for a can of beer where they belong.
There was news of Rahman coming down for the tua undercard as well, although nothing recently so I guess thats off. Alex v Rahman would be an awesome match.
no, but he wod be a better match up for meehan than hoppa. Actually Leapai v cameron or de mori would be good :thumbsup
he'll give Rahman a good go but i agree with goodnight Meehan would be a great choice if Leapai is successful over Meehan than slowly work your way up.
Hey shamrock, you where at the Hilton, what did you think of the main event? How do you reckon Eadie would go against Kickett? I thought it was a pretty impressive fight.
