Andrade hasn't won a fight outside of Brazil in 15 years.

He's 0-9 during that time and only went the distance once.

He is strictly an opponent, the only reason their paying for his plane ticket is because there are fans that are naive enough to think that beating 60 homeless Brazilians somehow makes you a good, experienced fighter.

Rigondeaux is 29 this month & that's his "official" age, the Cubans are creative w/ boxer's birth ceritficates. That's not young for a 122lb'er. They have to move him fairly quickly.

Whether Rigondeaux is the class in this match-up is academic.

You either agree with the OP's foolish assessment that Andrade is a bum simply based on looking at his record, and the records of those he's beaten; or you disagree and think that while Rigondeaux will most likely stop Andrade as has every other good-to-great opponent he's faced, there is a chance that he could get caught, and that making a mistake and getting caught against a strong, capable fighter like Andrade (**** his record) is dangerous. That's my only point here. **** any other argument going on in this thread. Nobody's saying Andrade should be favored, or that he's the better fighter. Why would you argue against a point that isn't itself being argued? :nut

You know who else got blown out in a round by JML?

Guy named Daniel Ponce De Leon. Total bum as well?

IB that's diffrent and you know it. Ponce despite his lack of skills is a world class fighter. I'm not saying Andrade is a bum for getting KO'd in one round by Lopez, I'm saying he's a bum because of the way he fights not the way he gets knocked out.

I feel that that is inaccurate. He is a C- fighter. D+ at worst. He is not the completely unskilled F level slugger his record would make him appear to be. Watch video of something other than him getting dominated by someone half his age. :good

His record is the definition of padded.

Ive seen a couple of his losing efforts and he is quite poor.

You cant expect to much better at this stage for Rigondeaux though...The Brazilian is well traveled and though Im not exactly sure how he doe its, he at least knows how to win a fight. According to his record anyway.

After this bloke they have to really look at blokes who can give him some rounds...Once he is comfortable with the pacing needed to go past 4 rounds it will be much safer to step him up quicker.
These Cuban blokes come into the pro ranks just about the finished product...they just need the pro rounds under their belt.

No reason why this guy cant target a weak titlist before his 12th fight if he is moved along correctly...I cant really see the point in getting him to 20+ fights when its a certainty he is spanking guys inside a couple of rounds in at least half of those fights..Dont see what he learns there, really a waste of time.

They're rushing Rigondeaux. Andrade shutters his world championship dreams.

    Fickle ass boxing fans...

This isn't exactly the same type of competitive, nail-biter prospect vs. veteran match-up as Marvelous Sonsona vs. Carita Lopez, but it is a fight in which the winner (whoever it may be...and I make it 70-30% in GR's favor, not 99-1 like some seem to want to skew it) should receive credit - but won't.

Rigondeaux wins by KO in his third pro fight - "So what? Andrade's a bum, he only ever beat losing records, look at his crappy resume."
Rigondeaux wins by UD in his third pro fight - "So what? Every good fighter stops this guy. Rigondeaux sucks!"
Andrade wins by KO - "So what? Rigondeaux only had two pro fights. He got moved way too quickly" OR "I guess amateur success doesn't always translate. He lost to a total shitbag, they both suck!"
Andrade wins by UD (and this would be the most impressive and shocking outcome, IMO) - "So what? Rigondeaux only boxed four rounds. Horrible matchmaking. Andrade still sucks!"

I guarantee it. Nobody gets any credit in any scenario. And either way, the winner deserves a little. Not a ton - but some. And they'll get none. Boxing "fans" suck!

Just the entire barracuda-school group-think attitude of the board in general. :good
