I can say the same thing about your post, styles make fights also Pacquiao had plenty of time to adjust his body from 135 to above 140, Marquez only had half a year.

 

Agreed. Him and his brother have very good punching power. Marquez has very underated footwork as well. He gets himself in good counter positions which helped him in those two battles with Pac.

I completely agree with the Excellent skills Floyd has at cherry picking. He's pound for pound in that too. I'm at odds on whether the fight will be a competitive one though. Right, Marquez is two wieght divisions smaller and lacks the hand speed. However, Marquez has great technical skills and his ring intellect is superb (even Nacho comments in the 24/7 that Marquez developed an extra sense that allows him to adapt mid-fight even mid-round). So I wouldn't be surprised to see Marquez dig it out and shock the world. But, I still can't get myself to put my money on him because of the size/weight and speed difference. Anyone else kinda undecided?

 

Mismatch. Hate to say it, but PBF is going to slaughter JMM. Wait and see.

 

People are being fooled by 24/7,this is a huge mismatch.
JMM is a 37 year old career FW who is moving up two divisions to a division he never fought at and doesnt belong at.

 

not to quibble but two posters have now said he's 37. guy just turned 36 two weeks ago and is in great shape.

 

How do you cherry pick a fighter when the fighter called you out?:huh That is called accepting a challenge. Marquez asked. Mayweather accepted. Are you guys trying that hard to CYA in case JMM loses?

No matter who you back, this will be a good fight between two great fighters. Just get the damn history correct. JMM did the picking and you have to admit the guy has heart (or is bat crap crazy).

 

JMM isnt the first fighter that called him out,others have done it too but he only listens when its someone smaller calling him out.

 

Every fighter alive has called out Floyd at this point, cause a fight with PBF is the biggest payday out there. PBF has his pick of opponents. He chose a career FW instead Williams, Mosely, etc. That's why people are saying this is extreme cherry-picking. And yes, JMM has huge heart, and huge talent. He's just too damn small to make this a fight.

 

Everybody was calling Mayweather out. My 82 yr old grandma was calling him out. I think it was like Cotto, Paul Williams, Moseley, Margarito (you get the point, they are legit welters). But, Along comes Marquez and makes a call out. Boom! Add a little of ignoring possible danger from legit welters and apply a small hint of catch weight and there you have it! Cherry Picking. Mayweather has no need to do that. He has the skill to beat all mentioned above.

 

The Diaz fight was a solid win. But to me that fight and the Casa fight calls alot of questions for this fight. Juan ate entirely too much leather in his last two fights. However bot Diaz and Casa seemed on top of their games or is it that Juan has lost a step or two moving up in weight. Some guys can move through weights with no ill effects perhaps getting better. That is a very small group when you look at all of boxing.

This will no doubt be Marquez biggest fight because of the big climb in weight. But I think he is really trying to put the muscle on the right way. He's trying to regain the speed and mobility he had lost in his move to 135. He should look better than in both of those fights due to a very tough camp. His body has also had more time to recoup than in between his last few fights so I think that shoul help.
