Not that I'm aware of. I'd imagine they'll kind of wait and see who the finalist are, you know, if it's say Froch and Kessler, it would make sense for the fight to NOT be in America, and vice-versa. Aren't the finals gonna be in the spring of 2011? Plenty of time to make a selection to maximize the fans accessibility.:good

Damn, I guess it come out wrong. If America is where they WANT to fight, then Hell Yeah...Be thrilled to have them.

I was thinking more in lines of their domestic fans I guess. They are the ones who would have to buy plane tickets, hotel rooms, and all that jazz.

Like I said too, vice-versa. IMO, if say Taylor and Ward are the finals, you wouldn't hold that fight in Nottingham, would you?

 

The first round of fights could very well change everything I think I know about this tournament.

Ward's best win was a decision over Miranda. I do not understand how anyone can watch Pavlik/Miranda and Ward/Miranda, and come away thinking Ward will win this tourney. Ward spent a good share of the fight cuddling with Miranda while Pavlik, a natural smaller and slower man, just ran right the **** over Pantera! In my opinion this does not bode well for Ward's chances against Kessler and/or Froch. I think Ward is in over his head.

Dirrell's best win was a KO over Oganov. Zuniga beat 7 shades of **** out of Oganov and stole his zero before Dirrell got to him. Zuniga only moved to 168 because he could not get decent fights at 160. Like Ward, Dirrell's best opponent was beaten more convincingly by a smaller, and supposedly less skilled, fighter. I think this kid is also in over his head.

Abraham at 160 was the very definition of "paper titlist." He carried that IBF title for nearly 4 years, made 10 defenses, and yet, after 10 defenses, Miranda is still the best fighter on his resume', and he looks like a freaking midget next to legit super middleweights. At this point picking Abraham as the favorite defies logic.

However, like I said, the first round of fights could force me to radically revise my opinions.

I'm just hoping Froch wins, the guys attitude is great, he makes the most of his talent and he uses his face as his defence!!

on paper, kessler has to be the favorite and rightly so. he' s the most well rounded fighter in the tourney, he hasn't got any glaring weaknesess, maybe slightly one dimensional as the fight with calzaghe showed.
for me this tourney might come a bit too soon in their careers for ward and dirrell.
AA isnt proven yet at 168, and hasnt fought no one of note yet, and is a lot smaller than the other fighters in height. i actually think he'll lose to taylor.
taylor the fighter with the best skills in the tourney imo , but hasnt got the stamina against the kesslers and frochs.
iam worried froch will get found out, he might have all the heart in the world but against the elite he'll lose, he has no defense.
though i think kessler will win the tourney, i think too much is being made of his loss to calzaghe, though he was competitive he still lost, i think people are overrating him a bit, and he wont walk through this tourney as some are predicting.
just cant wait for it to start now

 

For those who think Ward has been protected, or is a scared fighter. It is a little known fact that Alan Grenn and Glenn Johnson both declined fights with Ward. Ward also wanted the winner of Froch-Taylor. Froch opted for some time off. There is also one other big name that ducked Ward, just can't think of it right now.

Gotta be Kessler ... i always thought this guy could be up there in the P4P top 2 or 3 ... but think Froch could give him his toughest fight ! .... of the yanks taylor looks the best but as we all know hes technically as good as anyone just lacks the stamina and sometimes passion.Wards a bit of an unknown quantity at this level and Kessler first up is unfortunate ... as far as Dirrell is concerned this guys too easy to hit he will be flat out on Nottinghams finest canvas in October thats for sure ! ... Froch has the game to win it but cant see Kessler getting drawn into a war ... last but not least Abraham hasnt been overly impressive in his last couple of fights but weight issues could have led to poor performances but I wish he had a couple of fights at SMW before going right into this competition ... JT first up is a difficult fight as Taylors speed will trouble Abraham ...

All in allthough Boxing has been crying out for this type of format and it adds spice and excitement back into the game which we all want ! .... cant wait for it to start ...
