if a fight was done solely for money then both fighters needed to have the rep to make it happen to start with.

De la hoya beat Whitaker before Trinidad did and Whitaker that fought Trinidad was not the same fighter that fought De la hoya.

 

Yeah but what am sayin would you consider that fiter to be taking a risk a good example of this was when Oscar fought Pac would that be considered a risk cos in my opinion that was not a risk nhe knew he would lose but only did for another payday

 

Those number are close to what i remember but i know for a fact that De la hoya fought those same fighter that fought Trinidad and De la hoya did way better ppv buys then Trinidad did by those same fighters.

 

Trinidad did sign to fight Quartey a few months before DLH-Quartey, but Quartey pulled out of the Trinidad fight, resulting in a lawsuit from his promotional company.

Actually, Quartey was supposed to fight Whitaker before that, but Whitaker got suspended for riding the white horse.

Yup it's right behind Oscar as the big ppv draw is clearly Trinidad.

 

I doubt Oscar "knew he was going to lose" to the smaller Pacquiao. Maybe after the fight started as Pacquiao was hitting him at will and Oscar was so much slower, but not going in.

The only fight in which it seems Oscar was intimidated and doubted himself was against Hopkins.

 

Even when Whitaker fought DLH, he still wasnt at his best and got some good rounds out of DLH.

Whitaker was the legit ww champion and number 1 or 3 p4p when he fought De la hoya. While Whitaker had a year layoff or more when he fought Trinidad in which Whitaker was also coming off from smoking pot or some other drugs prior to the Trinidad fight in which it look like a shot fighter.
