    My top ten boxers of the seventies in alphabetical order. If you think I pussed out by not ranking them in order of greatness, well its hard muthafuc*a you try.

    Muhammad Ali
    Alexis Arguello
    Wilfred Benitez
    Miguel Canto
    Antonio Cervantes
    Roberto Duran
    Bob Foster
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Carlos Monzon
    Ruben Olivares

    Keep in mind I have the great Jose Napoles on my sixties list but he should arguably be on this one as well I just wanted to give someone else a chance. So I know most of you will probably hate me for leaving Frazier and Foreman off if you do post your own goddamn list and stop insulting me already. Try to put my list in order if you like or just tell me where I'm wrong.

    PS Im going to bed so dont expect any replies for 12 hours okay.

    i like this list,but i'd put buchanan and olivares in instead of arguello and pedroza,and put them in the 80's

    Ive got Jofre in my sixties list. Pedroza is a good choice and Foreman is another guy I looked at.

    No love for Miguel Canto?

    It was very possibly the greatest decade for latino fighters, so many to choose from.

    I don't see how #1 could be anyone but Duran, to be honest. You saw all the stages of his career and his prime during this period, and it lasted throughout the entire decade. Monzon and Ali battle it out for #2.

    I agree Duran should be top, probably Monzon second, Ali third imo.

    Along with the usual suspects I think I'd find a spot for Carlos Zarate ahead of the likes Jofre, Cervantes, maybe even Benitez and Buchanan. All great fighters though.

    Zarate is a good call what about Lupe Pintor, who just edged him in their fight?

    Come right at the end of the decade and Zarate arguably won it. I'd think of Pintor as more of an eighties fighter. I'm a big fan of Pintor as it happens.

    1. Monzon (undefeated in the decade, champ for seven years, record of 25-0 in the decade).

    2. Duran (Montreal would have happened six months before I'd have voted him #1)

    3. Ali. Achievement-wise makes it top 3, but he was beatable.

    4. Arguello. A great record in this decade, two division champ.

    5. Napoles. Regarded almost unanimously as the best p4p in boxing until 1974, so has to rank high.

    Too little to choose from 6-10,probably:

    Foster, Gomez, Zarate, Olivares, Canto.
