Inspite of Conn's impressive 12 rds with Louis in '41, Conn's luck doesn't last that long with "Mad" Max Baer in a time machine....... In 1941, perhaps Conn does win, since Baer was CLEARLY at the end of the road by 1940........ Amazing how washed up Baer was by the tender age of 32........ I think Loe Nova convinced Baer it was time to exit the bidness.?.? However, a 1934 Max Baer vs. a 1941 Billy Conn, I'll take Baer on being way too big and strong, and would eventually wear Conn down with pressure and power to score a late rds KO over Billy Conn...... 210 against 170 is a huge gap to overcome when BOTH men are in their primes......... The smaller Conn would score early on, and be ahead early in the fight on points, but I sense Baer catches up to Conn and lowers the boom.... Baer by KO in round 13........... MR.BILL
I have read billy conn's book sweet william good read! in the book it says him and max bear sparred when billy was a middleweight contender, max couldnt get near billy he was to fast, after they sparred max called him a future champion
That's possible.... BUT! As a middleweight moving up, I know damn well Conn ran like a rabbit in sparring against Baer........... Baer, often lazy in training, wasn't about to waste energy chasing after a rabbit in sparring... So the tale actually means nothing more than an interesting story...... MR.BILL:deal
