I always get the impression that there are some posters here that fought amateur or even some pro that like to believe had they kept training they would have developed skills similar to Mijares. They seem to favor 'boxing' over 'fighting' so they would favor some one like Mijares. They are as valid a boxing fan as anyone else, they just prefer a different type of boxer.

WOW! I Respect his decision but what a waste. The guy needed a better trainer and who knows he probably lost to a very talented fighter...I would do anything do be in his situation and hes just gonna let it go to waste huh.

:-( Its sad to see him go, but if he feels its time, and training and sacrifice don't cut it anymore what else is there but to be close to his family. Cristian Mijares was a brilliant fighter and unified a division for the first time in decades. His spot as a top 10 pound for pound fighter was rightfully deserved. But his fall was rather quick. Have a great life champ. :smoke
I really enjoyed the navarro fight as well as the munoz fight. I was on the Mijares bandwagon for sure. I'm not sure what went wrong...

His win against Navarro was very impressive. I thought he would outbox Darchinyan but he is obviously not strong enough. I guess Darchinyan really destroyed him.
