He actually beat Chris.....not by much, very close fight, but I think he won.

 

There is an interview (I saw it.... it is in you tube) somebody did to Alexis Arguello and in that interview he talked about DLH vs Forbes match and he said something like....." I told Oscar after his fight against Forbes that he should retire.... and Oscar told me that he had a fight he wanted to make and he would make US100 million dollars and I said.... for that amount I would fight too"

What's your take on that???

I saw an interview wth Roach stating after the JOE C fight with Nard that he told Nard he should retire before fighting Kelly Pavlik. Everyone has an opinion. I thought DLH completely DOMINATED forbes and was looking forward to a rematch with Floyd...until Floyd Retired. I didn't think Oscar would beat Floyd the second go round but I didn't count him out either give how close the 1st fight was and easily he dominated Stevie. But ever since DLH had been a FULL TIME PROMOTER he hasn't be at his best, plus he wasn't getting younger.

 

I thought he should have won that one, but it was close. I don't think it was a robbery, just a bad decision. I know what is down on paper but after watching the fight I felt Juan did enough to win.

Definitely JMM gets even more props (if that's even possible) if he beats Mayweather even if mayweather didn't even make weight (and he's P4P #1 if he does that) but seriously, why **** on Pac? It ain't Pac's fault OLDH was stupid enough to make weight weeks before the fight, and whatever you say about it, Pac was a huge underdog before the fight and he still had the guts to face a fighter that everyone though would be huge compared to Pac. It aint' Pac's fault Hatton fought like and idiot, Hatton was still the lineal champ and it was the fight everyone wanted to see.

Haters always resort to 20/20 hindsight and go out of their way to find some way to **** of what Pac has achieved. It's just ridiculous. Is it really that hard to appreciate what both JMM and Pac have done and what they're trying to do?

 

It is differente though...... in this interview Hoya basically accepted to Arguello that he was shot, but he was going to fight again because of the US100 mil....

In your case Nard never said or admitted that he is shot..... and we all know that Nard is a Gym rat..... so we can expext something good...

I read an article on yahoo sports, a couple days after Forbes lost to DLH. It was one of the sports writers for yahoo, but the guy said Oscar has no chance against Floyd in the rematch, and that his performance against Forbes showed severe signs of being on a MAJOR DECLINE.

I can remember after the Forbes fight, people were picking Floyd to KO Oscar if their rematch had went through. For the first time, we saw Oscar's face busted up. He even had a broken bone on his face.

Roach contributed that to his weight loss. He said, "You saw the feather fisted Forbes bust up Oscar's face. He turned old overnight and his punch resistance is no longer the same".

Of course, and then we have the disaster which Edwin Valero exposed 2 days before Oscar's fight with Pacquiao. Valero said he busted up Oscar real good in sparring and gave him the black eye. He also said that Oscar was not even training for the fight, and that Pacquiao will KO Oscar.

All of us laughed at Roach's comments, as well as Valero's late comments, but we saw it was all reality when Oscar got dominated so easily by a fighter no one gave him a chance against.

After the fight, Roach even joked that even he could beat that shot version of Oscar.

 

Ah....I thought the intervew was with just Alexis. But even still, DLH was fighting on far past what anyone would have thought given his overall situation. He never said he was shot.....on the contrary...in interviews leading up to his fights with Forbes, PAC and FLoyd DLH said he felt the best he's ever felt and stated he'll fight as long as he felt the way he did.

I think what got folks wondering about his mentality is the fact he's so rich, living the good life and alll the things money could buy, yet he still would be motivated enough to wake up and do road work? It was just had to imagine that kind of dedication to a sport that put him in that kind of financial position when he could have retired long ago with what he accomplished.

DLH had never said he was shot. And I don't think he ever was. And most didn't expect DLH to do as well as he did with Floyd....yet he gave floyd his most difficult challenge since fighting castillo with a busted rib and I think one handed.

 

Yea...Forbes busted DLH face up a bit....but he was still dominated in every round. There was NO round he won. ANd in boxing you get your lumps. Oscar did well I thought. I was expecting a KO to be honest but in a onesided fight like that one what can you say negitive? DLH was at 151 for the fight which was the lowest at that point.

 

Couldn't do? He's never tried yet. And he has a fight scheduled with Cotto in a couple months.

Doesn't matter anyway, because the chances Marquez wins are slim to none.
