let's make a poll right now and see how his ranking changes after the PBF fight.

So how would you rank him in the ATG list before the PBF fight?

    top 125-150

a win over floyd vaults him to maybe top 80....

a loss probably keeps him at 125-150

Who has an ATG list that long? Who updates their ATG list after and before each big fight? I did one about a year ago and have only tinkered with it since. Marquez isn't on it. I'll do a redoux in a year or so and we'll see.

I want to see lists from people that answer this question. Guys are loving putting a fighter in a "range" 120-140 or whatever. But sorting out those 20 fighters and the ten either side is a massive, massive, massive job, not something you can really guess at.

I will say that a loss probably won't affect Marquez's ranking too much, which was probably your point.

right now people may have him at 80-95. same boat as barrera and mosley

but a PBF win may just push him inside top 50.

See, a single win pushes his rankings by 40 places

a JMM win would clearly put him higher than olivares. and olivares is a legit top 50 guy

Morales was undefeated up to 42 fights and still has better resume than him ( in terms of opponent quality throughout the career) , but Marquez can catchup if he give quality results in his next 2 - 3 fights.

Ahead of Barrera but below Morales, how did you work that one out? I know Morales has the win over Pac but Barrera has two wins over Morales and a win over Prince Naseem.

No, but Marquez didn't get brutally KO'd twice by Pacquiao.

    Also, Barrera>Morales, IMO.
