It did 4 hours before the weigh in. This is from Borges, but I read Kizer's statements somewhere else saying this:

"According to Kizer, the bout agreement filed with the commission said nothing about weight penalties or the possibility of any weight other than 144, although he said last night that if both fighters agreed to the change it was not a problem."

Why would he (JMM)? This is his last-trip ticket to ride the money train and the fame and respect that were denied him with the gargantuan shadows of EM & MAB eclipsing his star? He will earn his respect, win or lose tonight. Add to that $600 grand more.

And why wouldn't Floyd not be willing to pay his penalty? 600k is chomp change from his guaranteed purse of $15m. With Marquez's paltry pay (in comparison to Floyd's), JMM will pick any scrip thrown his way.

There is good reason to believe that Odlh and GBP had known these all along beforehand. Marquez's hunger for the big lights and the big pay. Floyd's nonability to make the contracted weight. Manipulation...

...if anything, the responsibility lies with the Promoters. This is approaching the immoral (even criminal perhaps?) on the part of GBP! (Well, with a swiss banker at the helm, is there anything less to expect)? :hey:mad:

We were very unhappy with the lateness of Mr. Mayweather's contract," Kizer said.

Kizer said that had the bout agreements not been changed to 147, Mayweather would have faced a fine from the commission in addition to whatever penalty he had agreed to pay Marquez. For being two pounds overweight, Kizer said the penalty would have been 10 percent of his purse, or $1 million. Had he been three pounds over (147 pounds), the figure would have jumped to a 20 percent fine.

Read this and shut the **** up. You forgot to mention the money he would have paid the commision had he not changed the contract the night before the weigh in.

The **** is sad. And I know Floyd is catching alot of heat on the board right now. But it's not just what he did it's the sneaky way he tried hiding everything and changing the contract last minute so he would n have to pay all that extra $.:-(.... When he knew he wasn't making weight or even gonna try.
