Ok a few points i wanna discuss

    1) Mayweathers 5ft 8 reach is 72", Marquez is 5ft7 reach is 67", Pacquiao is 5ft 6 reach is 67"! People complain about these differences now but if Mayweather was fighting Pacquiao we wouldnt be having these types of discussions about size, even though Pacquiao is SHORTER than Marquez and has an equal reach! :patsch.

    2) People lately also seem to have forgot that there usually is a naturally bigger man in a large majority of fights, no same fighter is the same ever, so even if Marquez is the slightly smaller man? Big ****ing deal! And judging from the pics Marquez looks bigger in certain areas such as shoulders etc

    3) About the age factor, yes Marquez is the older fighter, but again what does this matter? If you guys remember correctly in his last fight he broke personal compubox records, averaging the highest amount of punches per round in comparison to the rest of his career. Marquez has a higher work rate than Floyd usually anyways

    4) People ***** about Floyd having a speed advantage, can you honestly name many fighters faster than Floyd? Fighters have their attributes, advantages and disadvantages, complaining about the handspeed difference is like complaining about Foreman having a powerpunching advantage over Ali, or Taylor having a handspeed advantage over Pavlik, yeah they have that advantage but speed wont be the deciding factor in this fight, it will be the skills. IMO even if this fight was fought at featherweight Floyd would still win simply because of styles.

Ok i think i've covered all points i wanted to. And before anyone accuses me of being a Floyd fan boy etc, im actually hoping for Marquez to pull of the upset, as he is currently my favourite active fighter at the moment (after Jermain Taylor), but im picking Floyd to win. And to be fair i dont like the fact Floyds coming in 2 pounds over the originally agreed limit, but the contract allowed this to be a possibility and Marquez himself realizes and accepts this. Mayweather does hold advantages such as height reach and natural size, but these wont decide the outcome. :D

I agree 100%. Fighters are not going to be the same size. We already have to many weight classes and people are mad about 2 pounds.... Fighters gain 10-15 pounds overnight and thats okay... Floyd never drains down 2 weight classes to dominate a smaller inferior fighter. Marquez is a beast he fought pacman twice who is now fighting cotto who i believe is bigger than floyd. Floyd is not a ko artist he outboxes people and breaks them down. 2 pounds is not a (Advantage) . This will be a good fight.... Everyone talks **** about this fight and its going to be a good one. Im so tired of people looking at height weight instead of skills.

:good exactly, Floyd usually only hydrates 1 or 2 pounds by fight night anyways, and sometimes even loses or doesn't gain any pounds in weight. He isnt the type of fighter to impose his size on his opponents anyways.

I think after the initial shock that Mayweather was coming out of retirement to face a career featherweight, most people felt at a catch weight it could still be competitive.

Their is a size advantage in most fights but most of the time both men are adjusted to that weight class regardless of height or reach. Vs Pac or Marquez there would be an obvious size advantage however facts are facts and Pac has fought at 140 and 147 very impressively.

Age I'm not as worried about as Marquez, Shane, and Hop have shown they can still go strong. But Marquez did seem to slow a bit as far as footwork and reflexes go at 135. But he has trained very hard and worked on that in this camp so I expect him to be very sharp.

In the end everyone was excited for this fight and we will still watch, but Floyd just took away from the sport because of the high number of people tuning in who will hear about yet another boxing circus act. Not to mention if he wins he didn't even care to make the contracted weight.

Yeah agree with you, but no one knows if Marquez if effective or not at the weight yet, like Pacquiao had his chance to prove he is able to fight at them weights Marquez has got the chance to prove himself tonight. Peoples main problem isnt this though, the majority of people who call this fight a miss match etc only say about the "huge size difference" between them, which there isnt :verysad

    I agree completely.

146-142. 4 pounds. And the gap in weight isn't going to increase by tonight. JMM was a lightweight, he's not going to be tonight. He put on a bit of muscle remember.

If you think about it, imagine the fight was at 135 and Floyd boiled down to 135 and then rehydrated to 146? JMM would be at an even bigger size disadvantage.

Floyd has the size advantage by a few inches and 10 - 15 lbs, case closed.

People forget this fight was supposed to be in June. Pac, Cotto and Clottey were not available then, JMM was.

The only thing I will fault Floyd is for not taking the Mosley fight but otherwise there was no one else around for him to fight that was a big enough name to generate enough money.

JMM called out Floyd and wanted the fight, he is getting 3 something million which is more than he normally gets. Some of you guys act like JMM was forced into this, he wanted this fight, he is a grown ass man and been a pro for over a decade, let him make his decisions.

 its funny how people are criticizing my post, but are not coming up with any sort of logical argument. I thought i was being fair, im not even a big fan of Floyd IM ROOTING FOR MARQUEZ TO WIN FFS! But i just find all the hate Mayweather is getting for taking this fight is unnecessary.

While I don't necessarily agree with your conclusions of dismissing age and size as factors in the fight, you do raise interesting topics of discussion that I for one do not feel the need to instantly dismiss as "propaganda" like some others seem to be quick to do. :think

And I'm easily Marquez' biggest gringo fan, on ESB if not period. :yep
