props to pbf for his win, impressive showing that he has no "ring rust". props to jmm for his effort and surviving 12 rounds. IMO pac will still be considered p4p king and it will be only taken from him if he loses to cotto this nov. or if he wins it, pbf will be the king again "if" he beats pac..
Come on people, those poll numbers shouldn't even be close. Suddenly Floyd, who shows up after 2 years of retirement and beats a fighter who is past prime (36 and involved in a lot of wars), who had big physical disadvantages, who had lost to the current #p4p king twice, and Floyd is now suddenly p4p #1 according to 40% of people who voted so far. Floyd huggers complain about their man not getting any credit or respect, but this is just beyond hypocritical.
Pac is number 1. Marquez looked old and slow at this weight. It was a shot Marquez who was fighting a 154 pound plus Mayweather. I pick Shane, Cotto and Pac to beat Mayweather
agree :good. similar to the "point" where floyd was in 2 years ago. it didnt matter how many wins pac would have gotten as long as floyd kept on winning too. retiring from the sport has its repercussions. looking forward for pac vs pbf ( given that pac wins on nov )
by asking him to climb 2 divisions higher, punked him at the weigh in, and came in so much bigger! :tired:tired The fight proved what was being said in the first place. JMM should be fighting at 135 max. PBF did great against a blown-up featherweight who lost power, stamina and speed, just trying to bulk up to WW. Be proud hugger!:hey
The question is pound for pound. Given a fair weight, Pac still wins for me. In fact, I will still keep Marquez as number 2 after his beating today. Floyd is just too big. Funny, Floyd didn't divulged his weight before the fight. He must be very big indeed.
I'm really a floyd hater but now im convinced that he is the real P4P king. I'm starting to love this guy. He has complete set of skills and i doubt anyone can beat him at this point.
Difference between Pacquiao and Gayweather is that Pacquiao takes risks and takes on the real challenges....Floyd is more talented, but talent alone doesn't equate to greatness....Floyd could change my mind by beating guys his size like Mosely, Cotto, Berto or even Pacquiao...but we all know he won't do that.....he'll just claim beating up on a blown up junior lightweight makes him the best fighter in the world P4P. Being the P4P king is about your body of work and what you've done recently in the sport in terms of level of competition. Pacquiao is #1 no question...if Floyd grows some balls and fights him and beats him than fine....but until that time.....Pacquiao is still P4P king.
Pacquiao should be ranked #1. I think Floyd is better overall. And if they were to ever fight, I would favor Mayweather. Fact is, he gave up that mythical title when he retired. Right now, Manny is number one. And he deserves it. Floyd is going to have to beat him to get it back.
