I think Marquez might be mentally damaged after this loss, but he has no reason to be. He lost to the best boxer in the world two divisions up.

I don't mean this negatively, but I really hope Marquez doesn't "cry for months" like Hatton, and end up mentally ruined. Marquez is an EXCELLENT boxer. He just needs to stay in the lower divisions... aside from a rematch with Pacquiao at 140.

I'm a big Mayweather fan, but I'm very glad the fight went 12 rounds and that Marquez was alright. I just wish he keeps his confidence and doesn't lose that warrior mentality he had prior to the fight.

I think JMM will move down to 140 or even back to 135... JMM vs. Hatton at 140 in England is an interesting fight... That's very easy to make since they're both GBP boxers...

I think Juan would be fine..agree with he would slide down to 135 or 140...he would get a good win before he retires..

I don't think Hatton will fight on.

Mentally he is totally shot - he built himself up as being indestructible and got dismantled by Mayweather... then made the statement that he'd never lose at 140.... and was battered by Pacquiao.

Physically he isn't bad - footwork still good, power still there, though his stamina isn't as good as previously.

I hope JMM does not get affected by this loss, nothing shameful about losing to Floyd. I think JMM still has few more good fights in him, I still would liek to see him against Guzman, Linares, Valero all of whom I think gets beaten by JMM.

i think it all depends on how he feels about the performance a performance i didnt expect ok everytime he got hit looked like he was hurt but i was expecting him to do what every great mexican go if im not gonna win it ill go out on my shield he just didnt he seemed scared i think he may have to have his next fight at lightweight against people more his size to get that extra bit of confidence back

If I was robbed like that, I'd take it badly aswell.

I'm sure after that he realises, like I do, that he should stop drinking his own ****. Without that, he would of knocked Floyd out in the first 4 and wouldn't of been robbed like that.

JMM has dealt with loss, several times now. But, this is his only loss where you can't make a case for it going the other way. In his other losses, they were close on a lot of cards.

Edit: Meaning, we don't know how he'll take it because he's never been dominated in this manner.

he sold his only chance of making this a somewhat fair fight for $600k. he should be having a good time reflecting on this while on a cruise using the money he got.

    He'll be fine.

He'll just say to himself 'Hmm, 147 pound fighters are big. Perhaps I shouldnt be fighting guys two or three weight divisions above my ideal weight.'

    Exactly!

His losses to Norwood and Chris John were very close fights. He, as well as most fans, felt he beat Pacquiao twice which kept him mentally strong and confident.

This time, however, he was completely out-boxed and dominated. I hope he doesn't lose confidence in his ability against opponents in the lower division.
