I truly hope this fight happens. It's easy to underestimate what an epic fight this is, when you read all the nonsense from haters/fanboys. It's a truly once in a lifetime fight, I think.

Please no fanboy stuff in here, just real appreciation of two great fighters, in what should be a legendary fight.

This fight showed a size difference that I thought was visible even with the bigger Hatton.

Pacquaio is the same size as JMM.

Mayweather needs to fight bigger opponents. He should try fighting someone equivalently bigger than himself by comparison ... Paul Williams maybe?

Why would PBF change his attitude and take on a 6'1 unknown(to the casual fan) punching machine for considerably less money and potentially lose his 0,when he could fight 5'6 Manny whos easier to hit, in what would be the bigest fight of the decade for BIG BUCKS!! Its a dangerous business here I know who I'd choose to fight:deal

and the steroids accusation, roach vs. roger, with floyd sr on the side, this event will be huge. I just hope they give these 2 equal BIG money to reduce outrageous demands for ppv and purse split by both camps

Money is the favorite in the fight though but pacs athleticsim can make the fight competitive. IF pac defeats cotto convincingly, even by UD, maybe it it can tilt my opinion to 50/50

but great fight nevertheless, one that has to be made for the legacy of boxing..for the satisfaction of the fans...legacy of the fighters and of course, it can be both fighters "retirement pay"

If Pacquiao actually gets by Cotto not very many people will feel differently.

I think Mayweather needs to fight Mosley first and become welterweight champion again against a welterweight that would by far be the best he has ever fought and then I think he should fight Pac. He would walk away with a huge purse and could sail off into the night a true ATG...especially if he won

Before last nights fight, I was thinking Pac would beat Mayweather. However, the fight was just a reminder of how bloody exquisite Mayweather is. Massively efficient, the guy could quite happily have gone another 12 rounds.

I've not changed boat to the Mayweather camp tho, but his performance last night is really making me think twice about my prediction, and I'm guessing the rest of those who originally favoured pacman against mayweather will be thinking the same.

Ultimately though, styles make fights. May dealt with Marquez from the first bell, dislodging him right out of his comfort zone, to the point where Marquez was too confused to so much as let his hands go. I dont think it'll be the same with pac, he will have the resolve and dynamics to let his hands go, then we'll really see how good May's defence is.

Either way, bloody looking forward to the fight!

(p.s this is not some indirect knock towards Cotto, the fight will be awesome).

This fight would be like a throwback in boxing. Having genuinely the two greatest fighters in the world in a match rather than showcasing them against lesser fighters raking in smaller amounts of cash each time.

Nobody's saying Floydie isn't ATG at all. What we're all whining about is THAT for all his ATG talent and skill, he fights underwhelmingly--what with all (skills, talent, weight, physical factors, speed, purse, etc., etc.,) the factors overwhelmingly tilted on his favor. His level of competition is still found wanting and unbelievably disproportionate to his natural ATG gifts.
