Nothing special glares me in the face which shows this guy is "the best of this era", Corrales was weight drained everyone knows that and even then he is not a fighter at the top level of the sport, Castillo I believe one fight he lost and the other was a very close win... Hatton is nothing special and Oscar was past it. He still needs a career defining win IMO, you can say It's Oscar De La Hoya right now but I don't think that's enough for all the praise he's getting. You only have to look at Pacquiao's resume to see what I'm talking about Morales X2, Barrera X2, Marquez, Hatton, De La Hoya and now Cotto.
Im going to defend PBF. All these fights no matter what you say are tough fights. and quality wins Hernandez Castillo Corrales Dela Hoya Judah Gatti Hatton Marquez (Although the weight issue is massive)
You don't find it a bit Ironic that you refuse to give Floyd credit for beating Oscar but then give it to Pacquiao in the very next sentence for beating an even older more past it and weight drained Oscar?
pacs resume is also weak. stuffed with greats way past their sell by date mayweathers is not fantastic, but castillo, corrales and hatton were great wins
Anyone who says that Barrera was past it in the first pacquiao fight is a moron. The fan was the king of the division, hadn'tlost in year, and went on a long winning streak against quality oppostion afterwards.
You could down play pretty much any win. Let's look at Floyd's 3 biggest challenges at WW. Mosley(too old), Pacquiao(too small), Cotto(damaged goods). And even if you want to say Paul Williams they would say he was weight drained unless the fight was at 160 lbs. A good fighter is a good fighter. Mayweather has won fights when he was weight drained, when he was injured, when he was the much smaller man, and when he was facing outside distractions. The same goes for guys like Cotto, Mosley, and Nate Campbell. All those excuses that people give have little legitimacy, for the most part, IMO.
Mayweather is an All Time Great. He arguably the greatest Jr. Lightweight in history, dominated the division for 4 years. Then he has picked up titles from 135 to 154. He has 3 lineal titles and wins over many contenders, including some notable victories like G. Hernandez, Corrales, Castillo, De la Hoya (34 years old), JMM, Hatton. He needs a win over a solid welterweight to close his legacy: Cotto/Pac or Mosley.
u really believe that pac would give floyd any probelms with his wild swinging no defense ass...marquez at any weight would beat mannys ass....pac is overrated and hyped up against hand picked opponents that floyd already made look silly...freddie roach even said he chose oscar because e was washed up and that 10 years ago he would not have put the manny hes has now against oscar...he said that ricky was one dimensional and knew that floyd sr. Could not change His style....he was a done fighter after that lazcanO fight....u mother****ers are corny....be realist and stop being haters...i have and floyd is the best...he will never get credit for any victory...all ya dudes was like marquez gonna give him problems blah blah blah...12% punches landed lol...this **** too easy for im...and for all ya saying he ducked cotto, mosley and others...get ya facts right..he called sugr out at 135 when sugar was king and sugar said no...so sugar looking for a payday and now floyd said no...after the gatti fight cotto was supposed to fight floyd but then after floyd destroyed gatti(who everyone said was gonna ko floyd) cottos handlers said that cotto wasnt ready...get ya facts right!!!!!!!!!THIS POST IS TRASH...CORRALES WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOCK HIM OUT...GENARO HAD TO MUCH PRESSURE AND ON AND ON....YA CATS STRAIGHT HATE THIS DUE LOL...I USED TO ALSO..BUT IM A REALIST...SO YA TRYNA SAY THAT PAC BEATING A ZOMBIE OSCAR WAS CAREER DEFINING OR THAT PAC BEAT AN OVERRATED SHOP WORN HATTON AS CAREER DEFINING...BULL****...COTTO MAY NOT WIN AGAINST PAC BUT I GUARANTEE HELL FOR HIM...SPEED IS WHATS GONNA WIN THE COTTO FIGHT FOR PAC NOTHING ELSE...FLOYD WOULD DISSECT ANY1 IN THE 147 WEIGHT CLASS GUARANTEED...
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl By everybody do you mean Gatti and his team? Floyd was an extremly heavy favorite going into that fight. Watch the tape from the night and in Maz Kellerman's prefight analysis he says "I can't imagine any scenario in which Gatti can win this" There was like 3 delusional diehard Gatti fans, that does not constitue everybody.
