So just to clarify so there's no mistake, You're saying throwing multi punch combo's at Mayweather won't work?

So who is the closest fighter near the welterweight size most like a Vernon Forrest
today. And does anyone agree Vernon Forrest would have given mayweather fits.

Pac probably gives him the best fight right now amongst all the welters, but I still think he lacks a bit of diversity to remain relevant in a fight with Mayweather over 12 rounds. If he was a natural welter he'd have a chance just through being such a physical beast, but without a physicality advantage, he'll get shown up over the long haul for being a bit too reliant on the jab-left hand combo. His speed will definitely give PBF some fits though, just as Judah's did.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Because none of these current guys have what it takes to pull it off. A guy like RJJ fantasy H2H could do it because was such a freak but these guys can't.

Handspeed, reach and a good left hand. Hearns, Forrest. Someone like those guys.

Don Curry would've been a great matchup as well!

Pacs too short and would have to lunge in at Floyd so no joy there, Cotto could well be coming to the end of his career and Mosely despite being a decent challenger is just a little too slow and creaky these days.

Someone who could cut off the ring and a decent jab to neutralize his speed. a prime DLH would beat him.

You need a combination of few fighters here is my recipe.
    Pac: speed
    Paul: high
    Cotto: jab
    Mosley: power
    Margarito: pressure
    Clotey: chin

I agree. There are not good enough fighters at Welter right now. Mosley is too old. Cotto is... not good enough as much as I like him. Pac's too small.

His fight with DLH showed me a lot. Well and the Castillo fight but he's improved since then.

A tall and long boxer who would be more concerned with beating Mayweather rather than entertaining the crowd. Winky Wright may be the best example.

I am not sure if Margarito would beat PBF...

BUt the way PW handed Winky (an equally defensive wiz as Floyd) a beating, I think PW will give PBF really serious problems. They say the best way to deal with counterpunchers is to throw punches in bunches and PW throws thousands of them almost every fight.

Talents from a different era. Sugar Ray Leonard, Aaron Pryor, Tommy Hearns. Today, Pac's got a chance. But last night I realized Floyd fights bigger than his 5'8" height, long arms, long legs to get out of the way, combined with his speed. A younger De La Hoya also had the tools to beat him. Hell, an old De La Hoya almost pulled it off. I forgot about Paul Williams, he's got the reach, speed, but can he still make 147?

Nothing and no one today will beat this guy ! hes a defensive master and the speed of his counterpunching is unreal ..... maybe the terminator could push him close ! ... if he wants too he will retire undefeated having beaten Marcianos record and be aclaimed the greatest that ever graced the canvas , lets face it he IS that good whether u love him or hate him !
