I like listening to the HBO guys. It always strikes me that they're trying to "score points" over one-another through contradiction or one-upmanship.....the HBO guys that is. It's either irritating or amusing depending on my mood.
The commentary was poor, but it took a nosedive when they started saying that Floyd was the greatest boxer since Ray Leonard. atsch That takes the cake for stupidity.
Well Mayweather did dominate the fight so we can't argue too much about them last night but they did fail to mention the weight issue while continuously lauding Floyd as being like the second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard when in actual fact this fight was not fought on anywhere near like a level playing field.
The sky crew are ****ing terrible. Not as bad last night as they were last week. But ffs aren't they meant to call the action? all they did was suck floyd's dick and talk about no-one could ever beat him, best ever, somehow shocked that it was a shutout. and the three wise monkeys in the studio weren't much better although at least Nicky Piper mentioned a few names that could bother Floyd. And don't get me started on Watt's scoring of John-Juarez They're a damn joke. Wish we could listen to the HBO commentary instead.
Wasn't there someone saying that Lampley implied that Katsidis would have given a prime Floyd trouble at lightweight? I think Sky needs a major overhaul of their boxing coverage, here is what I think their panel should be. Main presenter- Andy Kerr or Paul Dempsey Pundits- Steve Bunce, Barry McGuigan and Spencer Oliver Commentators- Ian Darke and Richie Woodhall
It was spot on. Though I admit, they made it seem that Marquez was completely knocked out on his feet after Marquez got up.
Jim Watt gave the John-Juarez fight to John by a single round. He's an idiot, scoring rounds to Juarez for landing a couple of jabs
