All interest went out the window when Floyd decided not to take off the weight, hats off to Marquez he showed true grit in proceeding with the fight, had I been Marquez, I would have told Floyd to take off the extra weight or good luck paying off the IRS this weekend.
Ah the battle cry of the hater. No matter how Floyd would have won that fight you would have criticized it.
No I expected Floyd to win and I expected him to win by Kayo there is no reason it should have went the full 12 none what so ever. Floyd should have honored his contract agreement and come down in weight period. he didnt and its not our fault that he is getting the neg attention from fans and the media as a result of this.... He shot himself in the foot its his own doing....
They have to overate it. If they don't they can't cover that fighting Marquez is a mismatch and a cherrypicking at its best.
They all knew it was a mismatch going in now they act like he just beat Tyson in his prime and ****, Sorry But Floyd and his fans are simply pathetic..... He doesnt deserve Manny Pacquiao kind of money, Freddy Roach should tell Floyd right now if he wants a fight with Pacquiao go grab that WBA title from Mosley first :hey
all race aside, people identify with other people with similar values and similar ways of seeing things. floyd is all about flash and hype and he doesnt concern himself with personal integrity. all people can apreciate his skills but only those sqeezed out of the same mold can defend the man and how he carries himself. every race has its bottomfeeders, whites call them trash and other races have names for theirs. every sizable group will have a percentage of bottomfeeders and esb is no exception. in their culture it is ok to be inferior as long as you make it seem like being inferior is cool. i am not racist, although i may have come across like one in the past. thats because i am not afraid to confront a racist with the same weapons he likes to carry. it is easy to pick out the posters who form an opinion of a fighter based solely on race. if he is the right race then you can forgive him anything. if he is the wrong race, then everything he does is overated. i think this behaviour stems from living in a very small world where you are identified as a type and not as a person. if youve never done anything of worth in your life then the only way to add value to your life is to attach yourself to the success of those that are most like you (him doing it means i could have done it too if i wanted to so by my logic, i am just as good as him). i know it is not the pc thing to say but some people are just inferior in the way they think and live their life.
Im not a Floyd fan by any means and I also wont deny his talent. As much as id hate to agree with that dude, I think Floyd carried him too. There were times in the fight where he almost seemed to be laying on the ropes and telling Marquez to let his hands go on him just to make it look somewhat competitive.
I am a big Floyd fan and I thought he was taking it easy at times. Floyd could have stopped him had he chosen to.
Ya the whole Margarito hand wrap situation...I was there for that. Dude tried to start acting like a jailhouse lawyer "Hmmmm, I wonder, I do wonder...what if it was lotion he had on?".
The difference is Michael Jennings was a ranked welterweight and Alfonso Gomez has fought as high as middleweight. He was also coming off wins against Arturo Gatti and Carlos Baldomir. The same Baldomir Floyd fought and beat for the "lineal" title.
