When he constantly comes in quite a bit under the 147lb limit, fought most of his career at 130 and 135 and has only had a very few fights at 147lb?

Take a look at the size of Margarito and Williams, realise that's what a Welterweight is now.

    Floyd was a big 130, an average 135 and a smallish 140.

Marquez was very small for 147, yes, but Floyd isn't a BIG welterweight and never will be.

As for Pacquaio - he just saw all he needed to see last night to realise he would never beat Floyd. Floyd just beat the crap out of a guy that Pacquaio had no ability to dominate.

I think Williams is the only guy with a chance, due to his size advantage and the fact that he can go all day, I'd still take Floyd in that fight, he's too slick, too fast and too able to find weak spots to counter in against.

Williams and Margo are big welters just as Hearns was in the 70's and Trinidad and DLH were in the 90's. Cotto is a regular size welter as is Mayweather and Mosley.

    Nice try.

Right now Marquez is a welterweight but Mayweather started his career at 130. This is just another excuse for people to praise a mexican and put down a black man.

    Floyd started at 130.
Oscar started at 135 and was a huge ******* for that weight.
    Trinidad started at 147.

Considering Cotto still looks weight drained anytime he attempts to make 147, I don't consider him the same size as Floyd, who seemingly hovers around 150lb maximum, even while eating lollies and drinking pop while training.

Let's face facts, All the hate on Floyd is senseless. The guy has dominated great fighters from 130 through to 154.

Lets look at the pathway, too.

He beats Mosely "Oh, Mosely was old, weight drained and never had a chance anyway"
He beats Pacquaio "Oh, Pacquaio was a smaller fighter and wasn't really proven at 147 anyway"
He beats Cotto "Oh, Cotto lost already to Margarito who Floyd ducked"

    Haters everywhere.

  6. We wouldn't know if he is/ isn't a WW. Keep in mind, he didn't care to cut the 2 extra lbs.

lol, the black man just cant catch a break. the reason he is a welter is because he cant make 144lbs.

Translation: He couldn't cut the 2 extra pounds.

  10. Cotto comes into the ring weghing 155+ and at one point, 159. That's 1 lbs under being a M.W. Clottey is close to SMW. Margarito and Paul Williams close to M.W also. Mayweather didn't weigh in yesterday, during the fight but my gues is he was 150.

Why is Cotto considered a Natural WW when he weigh in at 146 last fight? ****in dumbasses

  12. I'm sure he could have cut the 2 extra pounds but didn't care. When constantly asked about the 144 pound catch weight, his response was, "This is a WW fight!". So to his defense, Mayweather never said 144.

  13. Because he comes into the ring close to 160?

So why didn't he make 144lbs.? Why pay Marquez $600K? Why didn't he weigh in for fight night weight?

Fight-night weight counts for very little - hence why Marquez can put on similar amounts of weight whether he was fighting at 126 or 135. If it counted for anything, he'd be putting on far more weight at 126 than he did at 135. Fact.
