Mosley is the best welter in the linear sense....Floyd is the best fighter in the P4P sense.

I wouldnt even say Mosley was the best welter. Cotto beat him.

I dont see how one win no matter how impressive over Marg erases that all of a sudden.

I find it funny how he got this status of being the undisputed best WW. Sure he is up there and can beat any WW on his day, but it seems beatin Maragarito got him this lineal champ status, I'm not convinced.Especially since Cotto beat him

thank you i dont think mosely is the best welter, in fact cotto is and this is why:

currently the best welters are cotto, mosely, clottey and margo

cotto has beaten clottey and mosely lost to margorito
mosely beat margorito and lost to cotto
clottey l to cotto and margo

from this i can tell u cotto has fought more elite welters even other champs like quintana who holds a victory over PW so how on earth is shane the best welter? he lued like **** against mayorga and was beaten by cotto 1 victory doesnt make you a lineal champ

In terms of heat Mosley is the man to beat at welterweight. The only legitimate way for him to lose his ranking is to take it from him in the ring.

There's no contradiction in calling Mosley the #1 WW and Floyd above him p4p. P4p is a made up list with amorphous criteria (quality of opponent, weight jumping, quality of wins), rankings in a weight division are weighted most heavily based on defeating others ranked in that division.

I'm fine putting Floyd above Shane p4p and Shane above Floyd at WW.

Mosley is #1. He will lose that place if he stays inactive.

Mosley is not the top welter for me. Cotto has fought better welters right there and if He manage to beat Pac He will be the number one right there.

Cotto Mosely was a close decision. Cotto was demolished by a cheating Margo, but then Shane demolished Margo.

He is the #1 welter, but not undisputed until he defeats Cotto, wins the next few big fights or Cotto loses.

Mosley is the number 1 welterweight now and just because Mayweather is back and be beat Marquez doesn't mean he's back to being the number 1 welterweight.
