I agree. I think summing up his amazing accuracy and timing as simply speed is underselling him. But even when JMM was just waiting for the jab, a lot were getting through, so the speed must also not be sniffed at.

He has awesome speed but what most don't often mention is that he has phenomenal anticipation & timing, that's what puts him apart from other fighters that have equal speed.

Floyd's handspeed isn't overrated it is just his timing and accuracy are unbelievable. That combined with his reach advantage is why he was landing on Marquez so often.

He isn't Meldrick Taylor in terms of speed but he is still fast as hell. Ask DLH how fast Mayweather is.
