The fact that Floyds been fighting bigger fighters his whole career? Why cant you come up with a reasoned argument?

"FLoyd needs to fight someone his own size?"

Floyd has never fought anyone is own size. THe only times that he was close to the bigger man were at 130 and against Marquez. Castillo, Corrales, Gatti, Baldomir, DLH, Hatton were all from 5-10 lbs heavier on fight night?

    Why cant you address this?

Yep. Floyd's typically been the smaller man. Anyone calling him a coward for fighting a smaller man in Marquez doesn't know what they're talking about.

Don't hold ur breath waiting for an answer. I've asked this same question numerous times and gotten no answer. I dont many of the haters would know what to do with their lives if they didnt have a fighter as great as Mayweather to hate on.

Mayweather is a brilliant fighter but this argument doesn't prove much. Size and weight are different issues. Mayweather is a big fighter who started in light weight divisions.

Castillo and Corrales were fighting in the same weight division at Mayweather.

Gatti was a paper champ who only got the belt because they stripped Tszyu after he got injured. Mayweather's stop at 140 lacks any substance.

Hatton was clearly smaller in the ring. I don't have to look at the weight ... I looked at the fight and he was clearly an undersized fighter.

DLH was a shadow of his former self. He put on a solid first six rounds before fading completely.

Baldomir won't be remembered as an all time great in my book.

Now if Mayweather had gotten a prime Tsyzu, Mosely, Margarito, Williams etc as he went up the divisions ... there would be less argument as to his desire to be recognised as the best of all time.

That said, there's not too many better.

I'm not a Floyd hater, but I can address this.

Carlos Baldomir is a C level fighter and always has been. Don't talk to me about the belts he held at the time, Baldomir didn't belong in the same ring as Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not a very good fight to bring up, actually.

Floyd gets credit for fighting past prime Oscar, and it actually stands out as one of his greatest victories. If he fights peak Oscar at 147lbs, I wouldn't put money on the same result though. Oscar started out as a Super Featherweight.

I felt Castillo beat Mayweather in the first fight, but he deserves credir for getting redemption in the immediate rematch. This stands out as one of Floyd's better wins, although Castillo wasn't a "special" fighter. A very good one, though.

Corrales probably remains as Floyd's greatest ever victory. A stunning performance against a flawed fighter. But it was a great performance. Some people will tell you the court case and weight drained issues kind of secured the victory, but that's just speculation.

Hatton lost to Collazo at 147lbs in my estimation. He lost all of his advantages when he moved up to Welterweight, and Floyd capitalised, in a very competitive fight - it must be said. Good win. Mayweather had already campaigned at 147lbs, and more times than Hatton had.

The less said about the Gatti fight the better. Gatti wasn't ever a great fighter in terms of ability, he just had a hell of a lot of heart. Oscar De La Hoya gave a better version of Gatti similar treatment.

Like all fighters, some wins just don't enhance your legacy. Gatti and Baldomir didn't belong in the ring with Mayweather. Castillo, Corrales, Hatton, and Oscar all remain Floyd's greatest wins and that is why he is considered one of the best fighters of the last 20 years. Sometimes the Floyd fanatics act like he gets zero credit in whatever he does. It's not true.

Juan Manuel Marquez does not belong anywhere north of 135lbs. He just isn't big enough. He moved up two weight divisions to fight Floyd. after he had looked so vunerable against decent competition at Lightweight. The mismatch was on the cards from the very beginning. Not all fighters can just move through the divisions without a hiccup. Human beings are all different.

no **** that, if mayweather had gottin tsyzu, mosley, margo, williams etc as you put it, then you would be sittin here making excuses for everyone one of those wins and saying that he shoulda fought baldomir, dlh, hatton, gatti, castillo, corrales, etc...

no matter what he does you were going to hate on him..

Castillo was a Natural Lightweight as too Corrales. Hernadez was a natural Lightweight.

Gatti was Natural Lightweight but with age could not stay there anymore.

Hatton was a Natural 140 guy that looked shocking at 147.

Baldomir and Dela Hoya are the only Men that were clearly bigger than PBF.

**** PBF fans they just dont have a clue.

And JMM well you be the judge but from were i was sitting in my lounge room he looked 10 pounds smaller.

Even Judah is a Natural 140 guy that PBF fought at 147.

And believe PBF best and Natural weight is 140.

You people keep trring to make all of these excuses but the fact is Mayweather is generally smaller than a lot of his opponents. A guy like Hatton for example, is a welterweight, who cuts weight so he could make the Jr. ww limit. For the pac fight, he was 152 on fight night. Contrast with a guy like Mayweather who weighs 146, 147 on fight night for a WW fight. Ur right in saying that Hatton probably wasnt comfortable at WW and thats why he cut weight so he could fight in a lower class but he's still bigger than mayweather and got his ass kicked. Mayweather has beat plenty of bigger men because he was so skilled. he's proven time and time again that its skills that win fights, not size and thats why he's the best out there right now.

He's an ATG fighter in a very strong division that hasn't fought in that division in 3 years. That's all. Anyone holding on to a "smaller guy" argument is just being stupid. It basically just applies to this fight and, to a much lesser extent, Hatton (who was clearly more comfortable at 140).

The "size issue" isn't the problem, it's just not participating in a very strong division when he could be cleaning it out and making a profound historical statement. Any boxing fan would appreciate seeing that.

I have my criticisms of Floyd, but you're asking about a non-issue. His next 2 fights will be very telling legacy wise.

Baldomir is a fighter he HAD to face, he couldn't get a fight with lineal champion Hatton at 140 and people DIDN'T want him to do the same at welterweight. His move to welter was for the undisputed title anyway and a fight already signed with Judah. It's not his problem Judah lost to Baldomir, Baldomir deserves credit for pulling that off rather than **** on in my opinion. Who gave him a chance in that fight?

And that's where your line of thinking goes wrong.

PBF was basically a career 130 pounder, before "jumping" through the rest of his weight divisions quite rapidly.

His natural weight was most certainly super featherweight.

So even when fighting all these natural 135 and 140 pounders, PBF was the naturally smaller guy.

So what if he fought JMM?, I don't see what's wrong there.

Ali/Frazier fought Foster, Hagler fought Hearns/Duran/Leonard, Cotto is fighting Pac soon, DLH fought Pac, Hopkins fought DLH and Trinidad, Tarver fought Hopkins and the list is endless. If this is something new to you then you're a newbie and might as well act like one and ask for advice to get an introduction to the sport. He gave Marquez a long awaited big fight/shot and a chance to score a win against him coming off 2 years of inactivity and a chance to hit the jackpot/secure a third fight with Pac. Who else would have given him the shot?, if not Mayweather then surely someone else. A man who made a career fighting bigger guys is a vagina for fighting ONE fighter who looked to do what he did/does? :patsch
