He claims he did but I doubt it..I think he wanted to see if he did have ring rust and that was the reason for his choice in opponent...If Floyd had lossed last night I doubt we would have seen him again..I dont wanna call JMM a tune up by any means but I think his style suited Floyd to see where he stood if he came back in terms of how good he was or wasn't..SORRY IF THAT **** DONT MAKE SENSE..
Considering his natural talent I was a tad (only a tad, mind you) concerned about him getting into difficulty early on. I was pleased to see that there were no such issues.
It didn't?? WHY? Just because of the generic result? You didn't see Floyd missing his lead right (that he never misses) by 2 feet on some occasions? You didn't see him putting himself out of position and hesitating to fire his shots?? I know you people are deaf, dumb, blind, and stupid, but FFS... Maybe you just really don't know that much about these fighters... :huh
He did miss the straight right to my surprise a number of times, but it could also be the kind of fighter he was fighting. It seemed to me that Marquez came prepared more for the straight right, however Mayweather was crushing with that left hook, and the snap in his jab was very impressive as well.
PBF stayed in shape while inactive. I ain't expect him to be rusty at all. That angle was just played up to try and hide the fact that the fight was a farce.
Oh, he had plenty of rust in certain areas. He's just a versatile fighter and adopted other tactics and used all his skills. But his normal potshotting wasn't working at all like it used too. So, Floyd used his jab more, did more feinting, and all in all worked alittle harder than he's used to. He just showed us more of his fundamentals because the flashy **** wasn't as on as it has been. I see nothing wrong with that. He couldnt land a right lead without going through difficulty, sure, but he showed exceptional classic boxing to make up for it
When Floyd Mayweather is firing on all cylinders it doesn't matter who's expecting the straight right. I give Marquez tremendous credit though. He was knocking Floyd's jab/straight to the body away like it was nothing. Marquez showed his greatness. Mayweather was genuinely impressed with Juan Manuel's quality as a pugilist. I have no doubt.
that's pretty important but being off 2 years outweighs any of that regardless. The fact he can come back and look that spectacular speaks volumes.
