Mayweather looked great the other night against Marquez but just got stick for beating up a lightweight. He then goes on to whine that he aint getting the recognition he deserves.

Theres an easy way to silence the critics

1)fight Mosley next - a pbf/mosley fight is a bigger seller now because of the little scuffle everyone saw after the marquez fight, hes considered the true champ of the welter division and the fans have wanted to see it for years. i know that theres a chance that people will say mosleys too old if mayweather does a number on him but the margarito fight should but kept in mind when assessing mosley now

    2) cotto/pacman - cotto will be hanging round for a while and will be huge fight if he beats pacman, he already is an established welter so he would be again fighting someone his own size and couldnt get stick. Pacman claims he will retire soon but could be back if the politics dont go well. if he destroys cotto then we will definately see pbf/pacman which will be for p4p no 1 spot

3)fight paul williams who if im correct will have beaten pavlik by then and would be considered as one of the top fighters p4p. hes bigger than pbf and they maybes would have to fight at a catchweight which would look real ballsy for floyd actually fighting someone bigger.

if he wins these fights i will not argue that floyd is the best of this generation nuff said

I agree...Fight some actual top welterweights and then he'll get the credit he deserves

I would be happy if Mayweather just fought Mosley and the winner of Pac/Cotto. If Mayweather won these two fights then i think there could be no arguement at all really. However if he fights and beats Williams (providing Williams beats Pavlik) then that would be something special. But i honestly can't see Floyd going anywhere near Williams.

By not being as "Flamboyant" outside the ring.
Like him or not, The Guy has the ability to back up his words in the ring.
    (He might not K.O. everyone, But a "No-Hitter" is a "No-hitter")

Peep's need to forgot about how much of dick he is perceived to be..
and just appreciate his level of comp inside the ring.

Once people get passed that, Then they will appreciate.
For some reason on this forum I am looked at as being a Floyd hater by some..
And that couldn't be further from the truth, It's "Money Maywetaher" the people hate.

    Continue fighting...

    Mosley first/next
Then Cotto/Pacquaio (If Arum decides to let it happen)

If I remember correctly, Floyd signed for 5 fights? Means there's 4 left..

    Pac/Cotto Winner in March 10
    Mosley/Berto Winner August 10

Who else? The best way to greatness would be to fight at 160 for a title and if he wants to sit with SRR and Ali... beat the SMW tournament winner in 2011... I mean try, but it's not happening... unless Taylor wins.

This is exactly why Floyd doesnt really care what people think.

If he fights and beats Mosley some will say he beat an over the hill 37 year old.Others will say he's ducking Pacquiao.

If he fights Pacquiao. Some will say Pac was smaller, he is ducking real WW's like Mosley etc

He fought p4p #2 JMM. The guy many argue beat Pacquaio , the p4p #1 after a 21 month layoff. Yes, there were more dangerous fights out there but he was coming off a long layoff, I dont blame him.

Bottom Line. Critics wont rest till he loses his 0, just like they didnt rest till RJJ lost. Critics are never silenced, coz its what they do to criticise. Let him do him.

I agree with what you said to an extent. But at one point, he will have to fight welterwights. Marquez was a great fighter and it's a good win, but it's normal to expect more from the best fighter in the world. Is next 2 fights will be defining. If he does not fight one of pacquiao, cotto, mosley... there's a problem.

  13. Mayweathers next few fights determine his GOAT debatability. Floyd Sr must be a proud man.

I already regard Mayweather as the best of his generation but just like with Jones Jr, Mayweather has taken a path where money is more important than legacy and what the fans want. Any fighter who claims to be P4P the best must prove this in the ring no matter their perceived ability.

The thing that annoys me the most about Mayweather isn't actually his personality and seemingly unequalled arrogance but the fact he could most likely back up most of the **** he says but seems will never do so. Can you imagine Michael Jordan doing just enough to win a game or Usain Bolt only running as fast as he needs to, to win but never going for the world record?
