i dont think its easy to compare by using other fights as marquez was at his peak weight when he fought pacman and not when he fought floyd

you could also reverse it by saying he destroyed hatton who destroyed malignaggi who is considered by fans to have beaten diaz who put up a class act against marquez and in turn saying hatton wasnt shot he was in fact top of the jnr welter mountain when pacman fought him. we aint really gonna know how good pacman will be at welter until nov 14th

if pac blows out cotto, you're going to have plenty of excuses. it ain't gonna change mother****er, cause everytime pac wins, you are hating him more than ever.

loosen up, maestro. just because your hometown boy put up a fine performance against marquez does not mean he can do it to pacquiao:yep

You have a lot of hatred built up inside lately! :think

Watching Floyd school Pac's kryptonite must have did quite a number on you, but I suggest you learn to relax or else you might have a heart attack when Floyd dominates your idol Pacquiao! :good

No speed kills and thats why I think Pac will still win, even if floyd was the same size as marquez he would have still been faster, and won the fight.

well anything can happen in boxing, but people r over doing it with pac he only fought 2 guys in the higher weight class. Oscar was weight drained and quit in the 9th round cause he was weak, that gave roach the impression that a true welter would just bully pac around that's why roach was pushing for 143 lb and remember haton made it real easy for pac by having both hands on his waist side, Cotto doesn't do that and cotto showed that he has a much better chin than hatton and even with that he does have a better defence.

My opinion is still the same (50/50 fight, leaning towards a Pacquiao close pts win)

I believe that due to natural physical genetics, Pacman`s body is perfectly fine above 135 lbs he retains his power & speed, JMM lost a bit of both but Floyd still had no right to be as dominant as he was, that was a masterclass vs a man that had never lost clearly in over 50 fights, Marquez is better at the lower weights no doubt tho, if anything Manny is better at the higher weights, his body can handle it because he`s such a physical freak.

The other reason is styles make fights, Marquez lost to Mayweather because he was outskilled, not because FMJ overpowered him... Pac`s speed will give the much slower Cotto fits IMO but Cotto is a bit bigger & will be a tougher obstacle than DLH or Hatton, Pac will feel those punches, if he can take them for 12 rds, he should in theory take a UD but time will tell if he can take them - at this moment Im thinking he can but it will be a really interesting fight which will answer a tonne of questions IMO.
    Looking forward to it.

My opinion has not changed at all. Any educated fight fan knows if cotto still has his reflexes intact (which I assume he does) he's going to cause pac major problems. I think pac is a phenominal pugilist with tons of talent but cotto is the type of fighter that feeds off of mistakes and understands how to nullify fighters with greater physical attributes. Cotto's no stranger to speed and explosive power and he's not given enough credit for his ring intellegence. I'm pretty confident cotto will defeat the great pac monster. I know I may be ridiculed for this but cotto is not only bigger and stronger than Marquez I also think he more versitle and better skilled in just about every department except possibly stamina. Many will be shocked while others like myself will label it as the most logical deduction. Then again this is boxing and I've seen larger upsets imho.

    No, I still consider Pacquiao-Cotto about a 50-50 fight.
