Watch the Ward fight and we'll see what's what.

If Kessler was the fighter you describe, no defense, no offense, just a little power but slow...how did he destroy Beyer, a well - schooled boxer and long reigning title holder, how was he one of four fighters who gave Calzaghe a tough fight (along with Eubank, Reid and Hopkins), how did he win all except one? He is not an ATG, but sometimes it seems as if people on ESB can only see a fighter as a superstar or a total bum. Kessler is a good solid fighter who never gives an inch, doesn't have any glaring weaknesses and opponents have to really earn a win against him.

Have you watched tennis in the 1980'S? Mats Wilander was an unspectacular player, nothing stood out but he won three of four Grand Slam tournaments in 1988, he just didn't make mistakes. Tim Duncan doesn't look flashy on the basketball court but carried his team to several titles. Kessler is an effective fighter, sometimes that doesn't look spectacular in sports.

Kessler is anything but slow. The guy's jab and right hand are lightning fast and efficient. Go watch that Perdomo fight again. And he's probably the most powerful puncher at 168. He has good footwork and appears to have a very good chin. But, his defense is not the greatest (hell, even Perdomo's connect ratio was high against Kessler; that's bad) and its unclear how tough he is mentally. Calzaghe appeared to undermine his confidence during the course of that fight. Plus, he's not comfortable with upper body movement, slickness and pressure. I've got him over Ward by late KO, but you never know. This tournament is going to reveal a lot about all the fighters participating.

    Darryl,

You must've mislabeled your tapes if you claim that Kessler is slow and Abraham and Froch are "nice." Sorry, but Froch is easily the slowest fighter in this competetion...and it's not even close. Also, Froch is slow at everything. He has slow hands, slow feet and slow reaction time to punches. Compared to Froch, Kessler is a veritable whirlng dervish.

Those past 48 hrs must really have ****ed you brain up!
No defence, no offence, no movement, no speed and little power! you just described a fighter who would barely win his first 5 pro fights! What the hell is he doing in this tournament when very "underrated" guys like Miranda and Green are around:think Well, maybe others just seems to notice his potential a bit better!

I feel no reason to go on here...
